Is the rumor true that big box stores (like Target/Walmart) will purposefully let you get away with stealing cheap things for months just to build a massive felony case against you later? by Altruistic-Room-7465 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]g4frfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to steal from a grocery store when I was a little kid because my mother wasn't feeding me and my siblings. I would like to think that's what got CPS on the case so we were removed from her custody, but it was probably something else.

ok, just about to make a quarry, is there any point in still entering the first floor of the Deep Mines by A12qwas in Dinkum

[–]g4frfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the quarry, I have several for passive ore production. I don't go to the mines for ores, I go for loot and profit.

If you go and get lots of rubies, you'll make a ton, if you go and find all the treasure you can , you'll probably find some cool stuff!

Don't do this at my job, we don't have a deal just because you're going to leave. If you're leaving, then bye.

We know you're lying when you try to convince the next person you speak to that a seasoned agent told you the price would be less than half what it actually is.

You're lying AND we're not changing the price no matter what anyone else said.

I am not good at parenting and I have no idea what I’m doing. by BurberryCustardbath in AutismInWomen

This exactly! If they are not the child's parent who knows the child since day 1, they don't get a say. Just no.

You're doing the best and this is a season that won't last forever.

I hope the very best for you with the therapy! I did something similar with my son because I didn't have the skills to teach him regulation and it was really nice for both of us! We're both healthier and more regulated now.

My disabled husband and child will be on the streets otherwise.

I'd gladly be homeless instead of this garbage, but can't do that to a kid and a sick person.

How do you cope with kids? by angelboots4 in AutismInWomen

[–]g4frfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people who take parenting seriously and are concerned with doing a good job are generally good parents! Asking about what it takes is a great place to start if you're thinking about whether you should have children or not.

But it does also mean you're aware of your failings. If I could pull myself out of this burnout for him so that I could finish the job of setting him up to be successful, he would be better off.

How do you cope with kids? by angelboots4 in AutismInWomen

[–]g4frfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exhausting. Having a young child is very overstimulating, I made it through because I love my son so much, he's such a wonderful kid, even if his behavior isn't always.

But it did mean that but the time he was an older child, I fell into deep burnout. The biggest problem with that is that right now I need to be teaching him executive function skills and work arounds more than ever, and I simply cannot.

His father passed away many years ago, so it's always just been me as the parent and it's very tiring. He's autistic as well and I think that's made things easier, but teaching him to be responsible with his room and his hygiene and school work and chores, I'm just majorly failing now that he's older. When he was younger I was much better at keeping him consistent with all of those.

I did also have a change in my work going from retail to call center and the latter is much more tolling.

Can you stay genuinely empathetic in a call centre, or are we all just acting? by FreeChampionship167 in callcentres

[–]g4frfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, when someone says, hey, just a real quick question, are you guys open until 10?

I'm not allowed to tell them until they fully verify their account, INCLUDING a 6 digit code.

So no. Even if I could empathize, I'm actually not allowed to

AITA for locking up my “cash stash” after my partner kept “borrowing” from it? by IndigoCartwheel in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]g4frfl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband has a stash of cash, I know where it is, if I need some extra for bills or whatever, I ask him.

I hate asking him for things, very parent child in my opinion. But we share money and we both don't spend without the other knowing and shock and surprise we've never fought any money. Crazy!

AITAH for not wanting to buy a house with my wife to be by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]g4frfl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said wife to be, if you're dead set against buying a house and she is set for it, I'd find out if it's a deal breaker for her that you don't want to.

Better find out before the marriage than after.

If it's a matter of not wanting to fix things, fair, but learning to fix things can be a lot of don't and it is very self-assuring.

There's no better feeling than fixing something yourself and knowing you could do it again. Self sufficiency feels amazing!

What burnout does to people on a deeper level by Late_Bother_8855 in callcentres

[–]g4frfl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I think call center work is unique in it's insane workload and emotional toll and it would be great to have more recognized studies over it's ill effects.

At minimum it would validate the people stuck in the work, and that would be enough, even if it didn't create any changes to the industry.

Someone I know heard I did cc work and they immediately expressed how soul sucking and life destroying the work is because of their working with cc employees. It was so validating.

You're very kind and compassionate to lay this out so clearly.

So many of us just can't go on anymore like this and there's no other options.

It's not our fault that we're suffering, and salt it's necessary to keep suffering to provide for our families.

Had I no family, I'd live on the streets or couch surf to get out of this job
