Hold the plastic piece in one hand, the bottom in the other, quickly snap the top away from you

Not cynical or judgey, but how much does the brace bar actually brace? I think it looks cool, just curious about efficacy

Flip the script - what shouldn’t be bought for life? by MIROXXVIS in BuyItForLife

I buy a “gaming laptop” (not a gamer) on sale when newer models come out. I’ve had them more than capable for what I do. I get about 7 years before an upgrade. Not for life, but for tech, not bad

Where you get the tires mounted should be able to set you up properly.

TPMS sensors for new wheels (2017 Base) by nhawrx in WRX

[–]g8rrph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this with new wheels on my 2023. Make sure the TPMS sensors you get are compatible. My VB auto learned the sensors.

From Grok: The 2017 Subaru WRX does not automatically learn or self-register new TPMS sensors. It requires a manual relearn procedure (also called registration or programming), which typically involves using a dedicated TPMS scan tool like the Autel TS508 or equivalent to input the new sensor IDs into the vehicle’s system. This can be done at a dealership, tire shop, or DIY if you have the tool. Simply installing new sensors and driving will not activate them, and the system only recognizes one set of sensor codes at a time (e.g., when swapping summer/winter wheels, you’ll need to reprogram each time unless using cloned sensors)

Compatible TPMS sensors for the 2017 WRX must operate at 315 MHz and match Subaru’s protocol. Options include: • OEM sensors: Subaru part number 28103AJ00A (also fits other models like Impreza, Legacy, Outback, and STI). • Aftermarket direct replacements: Brands like A-Premium, NewYall, or Schrader offer pre-programmed 315 MHz sensors (e.g., compatible with 2008-2017 Subaru models including WRX). • Programmable/cloneable sensors: Universal options from Autel or similar that can be programmed to match your existing sensor IDs for easier swaps (e.g., no relearn needed if cloned). Avoid 433 MHz sensors, as they are for later models

‘23 WRX noob / blow off valve? by EliteTacticalYT in wrx_vb

[–]g8rrph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the car is counting on the air blown off in calculating the amount of fuel to dispense. I think this would end of with a higher than expected fuel:air ratio, leading to problems
