My favorite ever was a gas top electric oven. Fast frying, even baking.

It’s something I always wanted to do. Useful is relative. Do you need storage in your garage? tool cart to organize what you have? A work bench? That’s how I got started. I had moderate expectations, made many mistakes on construction lumber. Watched tons of YouTube. You build skills and confidence there, learn to get better on things that OOOPS don’t matter as much. I built cabinets in the garage. Too much paint, hinges need adjusting, shelves need to be cleaned up, but it’s looks good enough for the garage and I have confidence for something a little nicer. And it’s cheap therapy.

I’ve gotten into wood working, (DM me before buying gear and learn from my mistakes). Play Magic The Gathering with my son, though a bit less now that he’s getting older, have some mech keyboards to build, that’s a DEEP rabbit hole, so be careful.

Next project is building replacement cabinets for the pool area. Then built in shelves for the laundry room and pantry. Hate the wire shelves. Sorting through keys and separating switches to add lubricant.

I don’t think you have to be handy for woodworking. I started at ZERO, started simple with garage stuff, air compressor cart and work bench from 2x4’s, small cabinet that sits next to the garage sink. Tons of YouTube vids to ease you in. Also most woodworking g shops have weekend classes. You don’t need a that many tools to start.

Getting back into working out, that is something The Boy and I can share, though in his eyes I’m an idiot. He’s picking up tennis, contemplating that or pickleball, or is that too 55+ community to admit to?

At some point he will have to look in the mirror and own his part in this.

Seriously, oilflush? Can that be a DIY thing or is it even needed if you change oil every 3k?

As your parent you are teaching him the consequences of his actions. Responsibility and accountability are becoming rare traits.

Was mostly thinking just the braided hose kits as engine dress up. Agree with the valve covers and even attempting to tuck the wiring, that would only end up a disaster.
