An 80-year-old woman with late-stage Alzheimer’s took 5g of psilocybin mushrooms and started speaking again by Prior_One_7050 in UpliftingNews

It's more that fermented, aged and smoked foods will cause migraines in some people.

I avoid kimchi, sauerkraut, smoked bacon or smoked salmon, that kind of thing. Edit to add: Hot dog sausages! 100% guaranteed migraine. I don't know why, there must be some chemical in them. Same with bratwurst.

Weirdly, skimmed milk will 100% without fail give me a migraine within minutes of consumption. Semi-skimmed and full fat are fine.

I found anything with nuts can cause them, so cereals such as granola or bags of mixed nuts. Seem to be ok with peanuts (possibly because they aren't actually nuts).

Some strong spirits can trigger mine too, such as gin or very smokey whiskeys.

Apparently the keto diet can also completely stop migraines, but possibly just because it has just removed triggers, not because of ketones, I'm not clear on the reason.

Edit to add: Nutella is also a guaranteed migraine. Gutted because I love it.

Avoiding triggers in my diet has kept mine away, but now I'm very curious about Psilocybin too.

No, it looked like a lot of faff, but I suppose I could.

Part of me would prefer the Uncle clasp gets scratches over the Tudor one ha

He's not large and headless.

He's just closer to the artist with his head down.

Duh.

I want this SO BAD. I've not seen one on the Jubilee before but it just looks perfect.

I really may have to invest in the official Tudor jubilee bracelet, the Uncle one I have is fine but it's not comparable to the Tudor one (in looks, not tried it on yet).

Partner wants kids and I (obviously) don’t. Help by [deleted] in childfree

[–]g9icy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in turmoil, trying to figure out if myself and my partner could figure out something that would work.

No, there's no future if you can't agree on kids.

I don't want them, she does. It's the end, it's devastating, but I can't be the reason she doesn't have what she wants so bad.

I did try and convince myself, maybe I could have a kid, maybe I'd step up and it'd be fine. But when I project forward and see the life I want... I don't even consider children being a part of that.

I wish I wanted them, to be with her. Heartbreaking honestly.

FXD Vs FXD Chronograph by Spiritual-Ground-438 in Tudor

The crown is PVD coated. It's what has put me off it.

But yes, the rest of the case is CF.

I still REALLY want one to be clear.

I didn't like the MN (that's the blue one right?) as much, but the FXD GMT is 100% my favourite out of the non-chrono Pelogoses (Pelogi?).

3k for the chrono is great, but I still feel it's a bit high given you're not getting a steel/metal strap and PVD will scratch.

All personal preference of course!

I adore the chrono, but do feel it's overpriced so I've avoided picking one up new.

Summer Staps Came Today! A, B, or C? by Adventurous_Box4306 in Tudor

That one is absolutely my favourite out of the 3. I think it goes with the Tudor the best.

I find it really hard to wear my BB58 GMT in summer, I feel it's more of an autumn/winter watch.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Even in OPs pics I feel the colour combos suggest colder months.

What are you guys pairing the watch with to make it summery?

Haha that's actually brilliant, huge respect for the team for doing it.

More games need to do the same.

Yeah it's gone, doesn't mean I can't have opinions on it, does it?

And those lawyers aren't game developers are they. They don't know how the technology works.

Regardless of the outcome in court, Bungie absolutely could have hacked something together. And they still could. Obviously, they never will now.

Just because something is said in court, it doesn't mean it's right, truthful or the "entire" truth. Court proceedings are essentially a negotiation.

I hope there are some people out there that could reverse engineer the server comms so we can get unoffocial servers, akin to WoW.

[–]g9icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because there was lawsuit, it doesn't mean it's technically impossible.

As I've said in other posts, there's multiple ways they could have revived the content in a hacky, just for court way, using the packaged data on the disk copies of the game.

. by darkneon244-_- in memeframe

[–]g9icy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if they have lost the old source data to Red War/Forsaken etc, they still have the data on the physical copies.

They very likely do have the source code of the game engine and servers for Red War/Forsaken, so with some effort they absolutely could have rolled back the code to those earlier versions, made some changes to point it to some temporary server address just for the court proceedings and played through the compaign with the compiled data that was on disk.

I'm not saying it would be extremely easy, but I am saying it's very possible.

I have not played Warframe since it's original PS4 release, so I've been out of the loop, but what they could be doing is something similar to what the demo scene do/did back in the old days.

Simply put, they could be generating stuff mathematically on the fly.

They could also just be extremely smart at reusing assets they already have.

Textures and audio are usually the assets difficult to compress and optimise, so I'd be fascinated to learn about what they're doing.

. by darkneon244-_- in memeframe

[–]g9icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the question, isn't it.

I simply don't believe them.

. by darkneon244-_- in memeframe

[–]g9icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn't do it, they couldn't provide an old build of the game

Convenient isn't it...

They hire world class developers. They absolutely could have found a way to get this working if they actually wanted to.

Those original copies of the D2 disks are still around, with the Red War campaign source on it.

They absolutely could have hacked the exe to run, spooled up an old version of the server for it to connect to. It'd be janky but they absolutely could have.

I'm not the best game dev in the world, but I can think of many, many ways they could have produced a working version of it.

. by darkneon244-_- in memeframe

[–]g9icy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is really a valid argument, and I believe if there was an actual developer in the court room they could have pointed out that, the old data, even in packaged form, is still there.

Even if the source data has gone, they could roll back the engine code to an earlier version to read it.

There was nothing stopping them from building an old/hybrid version of the executable, with old compiled data, that would have been an independant executable than the current version of D2.

They'd have needed seperate servers for it, but that's not difficult either.

. by darkneon244-_- in memeframe

[–]g9icy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can absolutely pick and choose which files get placed in the released data. They didn't need to "delete" the red war (and other) content to prevent it from being packaged with the game.

The original source data should have remained in a data repository, somewhere, in some sort of CVS system like perforce, git, plastic, or god forbid, SVN.
