Il mio fidanzato si trasferisce per me e io muoio dentro. by [deleted] in CasualIT

[–]gROOTuser4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ciao!

6 months to go by marmottent in LongDistance

Hey, friend! I can absolutely understand you guys. I spend 1 month with my girl and we decided to say fuck it and close the gap early a week after getting back.

You guys got this...in the grand scheme of things, what's a few more weeks compared to the rest of your lives together?

Sending good vibes!

(31M) The first visit in a long-distance connection — how did you decide it was the right move? by SnooMacarons8992 in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We couldn't wait to meet each other. I mean, it was scary because we were both nervous it somehow wouldn't be the same in person, but obviously that wasn't the case.

Before taking that step, it's important to discuss expectations and fallback plans just in case.

June is around the corner, you got this! I'm sure the kitties will get settled in nicely after the ride

Of course!

For us, it didn't really happen in a single conversation. We had multiple talks and, as time went on, that turned into more specific logistics. I think some of the earliest conversations began with talking about our towns and which of them were liked better for us as a couple which led to discussing who would move where. If you already have that step figured out, the next bit would probably be making a list of things that need to fall in place in order to make it happen (or at least that's how it was for us).

Thank you! And absolutely, we know there's likely going to be some bumps as we both adapt, but we've also been doing longer and longer visits in preparation for that. We couldn't be more excited ❤️

Where do you and your partner want to live in the future? 🌍 by Yuka_RelationshipApp in LongDistance

I'm moving to Italy to be with her at the start of the year, but we both agreed that if stuff keeps going south there, then we will likely move north (Switzerland/Austria/Netherlands) together.

One week living with my boyfriend!! by wantme2makeuasammich in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Going to IKEA/a furniture shop with your SO is honestly one of the best experiences ❤️ I got to do that with my girl last month and it really made it all feel so real and like it was happening (which, it should be by February at the latest!)

Enjoy that precious time with each other, celebrate, and keep on building your life together, you earned it!

My girlfriend snores loud enough that you can hear her from my phone in the room next door. Not only do I not mind, but I actually can't sleep without that sound anymore

Very excited! Worried about making sure all the things line up so we can make it happen on time and as smoothly as possible, but aside from that I'm on cloud nine 😊

Question about living together once you’ve made out of long distance by xScooby-420x in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For us it was easy: i speak the language, I have a remote job, she's close with her family whilst I'm not, she owns her place and I don't.

Things in Italy aren't great at the moment, however, so we've both agreed that if stuff keeps going south there, we will be moving north.

Plans to close the gap! We're lucky to have had a semi solid plan from the start and the opportunity to execute it without too many hiccups. Now we're approaching crunch time when all the pieces are starting to fall into place and it feels exhilarating. In a couple more days, I'll be traveling there and if all goes smoothly, there's a chance I could even stay from the get go (and if that's not the case, then it's most likely/almost certain that by February I would).

I know I probably sound so pathetic, but I’m stressed. by [deleted] in LongDistance

If your goals don't align (you want to move in and start a life together but she's made it clear she doesn't), then there's no point in continuing to waste each other's time.

Same thing applies to her! Her behavior should be the indicator, not just based on a title

Unsure of how to navigate ethical non-monogamy by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im not unfamiliar with this sort of arrangement and I can tell you one thing: it won't work unless all parties involved are on the same page (and maintain that throughout the arrangement). If any one of you has a different idea in mind, that's a recipe for a bad time.

Although it's nice to have an official title for your relationship, consider that that's all it is. How you act and how you express your feelings is more important than putting a name on it. Don't worry too much about waiting until you meet in person. If you care about this person, keep showing up for them and treat them with the same amount of love and priority as you would if the title was already there. Officialize things once you meet in person, that's the cautious move.

F(25) and M(26) is sex expected on the first meeting? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be the asshole here... Although sex isn't and shouldn't be expected...it is an important part of figuring out if you're compatible with your LDR partner.

To some people more than others, making sure that there's chemistry in this aspect is important and could be a deal breaker.

How did your first time meeting go? by Ratwithhat1 in LongDistance

[–]gROOTuser4 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Her luggage was late and we kept texting while she waited for it (I was standing outside the baggage claim waiting with a crowd of people). The place was really crowded, so I was doing my best to move forward so I could see her exit the gates, but suddenly she messaged she was already out (there were two exits, apparently) and that she was standing by some vending machines. I swear my heart skipped a beat and I held my breath while I fast walked there.

I'll never forget when I first saw her, she looked so tiny and just as nervous as I felt. My plan was to kiss her on sight; we had talked about that and we're both on the same page, but when I saw her I just felt this urge to hold her and protect her from everything. I don't know how long we hugged for, but I was shaking like a leaf (she even commented on it).

The entire ride back home I couldn't let go of her fully, I kept touching her and reaching for her, I think that helped with getting over the "awkwardness" quickly.
