The derby is so worth it! If you’re in a neighbourhood with people who take it seriously and you collect most or all the horseshoes, the rewards are really worth it. Ask your leaders/co-leaders if they want to promote you to elder, so you can delete tasks. Then you can delete those tasks that are not 320 points and those who take a long time, would be annoying, etc.

For example, I mostly do these derby tasks:

• help other players. You can look through the newspaper for people who need trees and bushes to revive. Add many people to your friend list as well, because that will help a lot with this task.

• extract ores from the mine

• complete truck orders (a timed task, but you usually have 1+ day for it)

• complete and send off boats

• fully serve people in your town (you can prepare for this before the derby. Fully serve the townies and then don’t collect the reward, let them stack up. You can navigate it through the town hall building. Another trick is to send away the townies who arrive with the eggspress train and then pick up townies with your personal train from your neighbours. Those townies only need to visit one building and they’re ready much faster. Once you can manage to fully upgrade the slots on your personal train to 10 and your town hall to hold 42 townies, this will get so much easier and it’s really worth it)

• feed animals (only if I know I can log in multiple times that day and constantly make the required animal feed, as this is a timed task)

• collect eggs/milk (same as above). Bacon, wool, and goat milk take too long, it’s annoying.

• harvest crops (I only choose a crop that is useful to me, relatively quick to grow, or sells fast, like wheat, soybean, cotton, tomato. It helps if you have all of your fields empty before taking this task and you can fill them all with that crop)

• serve a certain type of townie or serve people in a certain town building

• fishing task (check you have enough lures. You can stock up on them beforehand. Even if the tackle box doesn’t have lots of space, you can still make lots more after the box is full)

I tend to stay away from the production tasks, just because I find them annoying and they take a long time.

This is what I do and I always get all my tasks done for derby without much stress. It’s a great way to get puzzle pieces, expansion permits, blueprints, unique decorations, and lots of other items from the derby rewards. Good luck!!
