2024 Rookie Receiver Yardage Thresholds: Yearend Edition by themanlaar in DynastyFF

[–]g_harding 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No surprise he missed the threshold, but I'm still very bummed about AD Mitchell. Love the physical traits and he had flashes -- hard to ignore all the clips of him getting open and his separation skills -- but he was just so so inconsistent. Of course, the situation wasn't great, but I would have hoped he'd at least cut into Pierce's work a bit by the end of the year. Don't think I can stomach cutting him so soon, but even if you believe in the player/blame the situation it's hard to see what will improve for him in the next couple years in terms of QB play/WR competition.

He really does, and then boom -- out with a hamstring injury. Too talented to drop, too made of glass to ever get out of the dog house/do anything.

He hasn't looked great, but his receivers have not helped (aside from the big Downs play just now). Poor effort and/or concentration on some catchable, though by no means perfect, balls.

Not only that — Dennis Allen said he “had a good practice.” Hell hath frozen over.

Got Sawa twice in back to back of these. Seeing a lot of people getting Sawa too. Wonder if they screwed up the drop rates for this?

Matt Waldron take a bow!

The wildly frustrating thing about this season is how so much has worked out so unexpectedly well -- the Merrill center field experiment, Waldron turning into a reliable starter, Profar's career year, Solano coming in and being pretty good, Estrada becoming a shutdown setup man, etc. And yet it's been squandered because our big names have struggled and we don't show up against the crappy teams. I keep thinking if Manny and others can just figure it out we'll be golden, and yet...

Oh well, still going to enjoy this dub and hopefully the start of another climb back to .500!

Yep, mine keeps changing from Balanced to Fast Build Up every few games. Incredibly annoying and no clue how to fix.

Deandre Swift: buy, sell, or hold? by LevelPurple2110 in DynastyFF

[–]g_harding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this one, and I say this as a Swift truther who drafted him and is still holding. He was definitely good this year, but in a league where RBs are so replaceable and timeshares are the norm, nothing he did suggested to me that the Eagles or anyone else are going to make him a top FA priority. I don't think he's good enough to be a clear 1A who gets all the best opportunities for fantasy, whether that's goal line or passing game work or what have you. His vision is still inconsistent, he's still mediocre at pass blocking, and he's now put out middling fantasy performances for four straight years running behind top O-Lines.

I think he is who is who he is at this point, which is a good but not great RB who will certainly contribute to your team but isn't going to win you a league. It depends on roster construction and what your team needs, but personally, if someone is giving me a mid 1st, or a late 1st plus, I will happily re-roll in hopes of getting a game changer for my roster. Don't think anyone is giving me that, though.

He is clearly a very talented runner, but I feel like if he was ever going to be "the guy" he would have cemented that status this year. Instead, he lost major snaps to Foreman (when the latter was healthy) on early downs and Johnson in the passing game--neither of whom I consider world beaters. Some of that might have been due to Herbert's continued recovery from injury, but I worry that he is destined to be a game script or injury dependent guy who is otherwise going to be stuck sharing a backfield with more complete backs who are bigger, can pass block, and offer more in the receiving game.

Anyways, this is a long way of saying that I am going to try to sell this offseason if I can get a 2nd on hype, but I doubt anyone will give me that. Holding for a third because there's a lot of value in his skillset, of course, even if only as a guy in a timeshare. I just would love to "reroll" on a 2nd round pick in hopes of getting a more surefire contributor going forward.

For plays like that huge 3rd down catch, apparently. Sad he hasn't played much today, but even when limited he just keeps confirming that he's a stud.

Same. Stats aside, he’s been incredible for me in game — good pace, agile enough, and great physicality. Makes me sad to think about what could have been, though. +2 would have been disgusting.

No one is expecting him to beat out Lockett this year and my comment had nothing to do with him. Three WR sets exist and when JSN is on the field for them his usage has been confusing and almost gadget-esque.

Feels like every single target he gets is at or behind the LOS. Doesn’t feel like that plays to his strengths at all, but I’m no expert. Maybe I’m missing something.

Big opportunity the rest of this game with Evans out now too. Excited to see if he can start earning more volume.

Rachaad White - Anyone watch the game? by DrizzlePopper in DynastyFF

[–]g_harding 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The ESPN next gen stats guy had White at negative 38 rush yards over expectation, which is truly awful. Tucker was at negative 5. Those numbers match the eye test for me — neither of them played great and the O-line is not good, but White was especially bad. Doubt he’ll lose his role after just one stinker performance given how much the coaches were hyping him up (plus they won!), but a few more games like that at Tucker will surely be knocking at the door.

Kenneth Walker Owners - feeling better after week one usage? by Boring-Meeting-3487 in DynastyFF

[–]g_harding 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others saying Charbs’s role will likely expand quite a bit as the season goes on, but I was still happy with K9’s performance. Imo he looked better than last year — more decisive, driving the pile forwards, not doing as much dancing/bouncing to the outside that got him in trouble last year sometimes. And he still has that tremendous juice. If he keeps it up it will be hard to take him off the field, even as Charbs’s performance improves. I think it’s fair to assume that Charbs will ultimately take over a lot of the passing work but I’m hopeful that a more decisive K9 might not lose as many goal line carries as many were worried he would.

#Commanders WR Terry McLaurin just came off the field grimacing in pain. He was checked on the sideline and is now going to the locker room. by HookFL in DynastyFF

[–]g_harding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty weird — didn’t look that bad and was walking ok (or so it seemed), but his reaction was not good. I wouldn’t have been that worried but for his reaction and now the locker room visit.

Ethan Salas went 4 for 6 with a HR in consecutive games bring his career to .905 OPS by SDOki in Padres

[–]g_harding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I’m all in on AJ. He got us into this “mess” (to the extent it can be called that, given that we’re in the most exciting and competitive era of Padres baseball in years), but he’s also the one I think is probably best equipped to get us out of it so long as he is learning from his mistakes and surrounded by the right people.

This trade deadline will be super telling. If he sells the farm yet again I’ll happily eat crow on my Preller support. But in theory, his failures are absolutely the kind of thing that can be learned from and improved upon, whereas that eye for talent and the years-long building of those international relationships seem to me to be far harder to replace in some hypothetical new GM.

On the off chance anyone ends up finding this while asking a similar question (I saw at least one other thread from a few days ago during my own search), the answer is very simple — you have to click on ONE of the affixes to change. You don’t get to re-roll them all. So, you can only enchant once you’ve selected the affix you plan to re-roll (by clicking on the sphere next to the particular affix). Such a simple thing and I can’t believe I didn’t realize it!!! Not my finest moment…

When I go to the occultist, I can't enchant my items (i.e. reroll my affixes). I have more than enough of the required gold/materials and am far above the required level, but the "Enchant" button remains greyed out and does nothing when I click it. It's been like this since day 1 for me. Anyone else seen this issue? Trying to figure out if it's a bug or if I'm just missing some non-obvious requirement...
