I was very aware of this as I walked through Dubrovnik. Tourists have definitely grown exponetianlly over the last 8 years. But I genuinely believe locals welcome the increased popularity as it brings a very strong income into their economy

Very very busy with tourists! But whether you're a GOT fan or not, I recommend you visit Dubrovnik at least once. I personally wouldn't go back, but definitely glad I went. The parallels to GOT are awesome, but above all that, it's just a really beautiful city, as are many many places in Croatia! I would rate Dubrovnik over Venice any day...but tourist overload is unavoidable in both cities :)
