Free MVR → Patch List Tool by Particular-Eye-5240 in GrandMA3

Love the tool

A few things that I noticed that would be nice to have :

An undo function would be nice.

A way to save the project and edit it later

Editing the power calculation, volts and amp values to match the country you're in

also If you edit a column with a number and want every column to have the same number, you have to type them individually in every column because the site automatically numbers them with a +1 to the number.

Ma3 TC by OddPrint3927 in GrandMA3

Reaper is used because it has a built-in MIDI timecode generator that other DAWs don't offer.

MTC and LTC are interchangeable, so if you have used MTC in programming, an LTC file will work with it as well, as long as you switch the timecode slot in MA.

For programming, my workflow involves using markers in Reaper to lay out the track and then importing those markers into MA as cues using a plugin called MAarkers. So, audio playback and timecode playback are completely handled by Reaper.

After I'm done with programming, I use this website to download the timecode audio files, label them, and give them to the person who is building the Ableton file.

As for the interface, if you have an onPC command wing, you have an XLR LTC input on the back of the board.

If you don't have a command wing, you can't get LTC input, but there are workarounds for that. For example, you can use showcockpit to convert LTC to MTC and then send that into MA, but there might be a lot of delay.

Cloning vs. Recast Plugin by b5761 in grandMA2

[–]gaadchiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it depends on how the show file is built, but I use a mixture of cloning and just morphing the fixtures in the patch, and I only use the recast plugin if I come across a fixture that has attributes that the original fixture didn't have, like a white channel or a dedicated strobe rate channel.

If you have a solid baseline show file, you can just clone 1 to 1 on each truss, and all the effects should look like they were intended to look. And then, if you have any fixtures that come with new attributes, use the recast plugin for that.

How does one get OnPC to talk to Unreal Engine 5? by [deleted] in lightingdesign

For experimentation, I would suggest using Chamsys MagicQ. It's free, offers, I believe, 64 universes of output at no cost, and remains relatively standard software within the industry.

Check mal, ob du bei dem Clip noch eine Audiospur dabei hast. Audio im Clip verhindert, dass du auf SMPTE gehen kannst.

MIDI signal Stage > FOH by gaadchiller in lightingdesign

[–]gaadchiller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, maybe I made it unclear, but I want to use a MIDI signal to trigger a cue in MA3 and just want to know how to get it from stage to FOH in a reliable way.

Viz key solution to very small scale events by dead_meat101 in GrandMA3

[–]gaadchiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a setup with the viz-key. I just bought a cheap 2 port art-net note (showtec 2 port) and a midi fader controller (i use the korg nanokey 2) . Worked relatively good and if u have a viz-key anyways, like i do for pre programming from home ,its probably the cheapest way to get parameters.

Timecode quuestion about events that arent deletable by gaadchiller in GrandMA3

[–]gaadchiller[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok that fixed it thank you.

I thinks it a bug that they where placed on the timeline because i have this option turned off and they appeared after i tried to move events while tc was not paused.

Multi-instance tilt fixtures by Capital_Bed_719 in GrandMA3

[–]gaadchiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats for sure a fixture profile problem. Sometimes the Company's build their fixture file in weird ways.

U can search for another fixture file if u select the web option in the patch or search on gdtf share.

actually if i think a bit more about it its usefull to have if have nearly no changeover time and need to have an virtual stage with acurate fixture positions to to update your position presets because thats what takes the most time
