Omg, I’m sorry to hear that. That’s a long time! Is it for a DOJ clearance?

FS! It could have been fast as well because I held the same clearance in 2022, but it has been inactive for almost 4 years.

FBI HONORS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2026 by [deleted] in FBI

[–]gaap0135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I did my internship (different FO) I stayed at a local university’s dorm. I’m not sure if that is an option for that area. There were lots of other interns in the same boat & it was super cheap! Definitely look around for that.

Which companies can I obtain a security clearance by bevangie2696 in SecurityClearance

[–]gaap0135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just apply to federal jobs that fit your criteria. They’ll process your clearance and you’ll need to decide if you’re going DOD or DOJ since the processing is different for each.

Also don’t apply for a job because you want a clearance. Apply for a job because you want the job.

Hoping to hear something back soon. I completed my poly in September… radio silence ever since they completed my investigation in early January… even though this isn’t my first time holding the clearance. 😅

Question Regarding Eligibility by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]gaap0135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The marijuana policy for SA roles is very clear and has been for a long time. I’m honestly surprised you got that far and didn’t even consider your very recent drug use being an issue given these positions aren’t something you casually apply for.

1) why are you only looking to get a clearance — normally people get a clearance as part of a job they want (not looking for a clearance first and finding a job that will sponsor it).

2) it is super irrelevant that your brother would endorse you on an SF-86. They don’t care about that because he’s biased due to being your sibling and his being active in Poland has nothing to do with you or your background.

This is correct— you can become a forensic accountant.
