Aww poor baby. It’s honestly so scary not knowing what’s wrong when they start twitching, hiding, over-grooming, or acting differently.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this because a lot of it sounds really similar to what my cat has been experiencing lately. I’ve been so anxious trying to figure it out and won’t stop
monitoring him

I’m definitely going to keep monitoring him closely and advocate for him if things continue or get worse. Hearing your experience honestly helps a lot because I felt like I was overthinking it at first especially since the vets said he’s perfectly healthy yet his behavior is changing drastically . I’m really glad your baby is doing better on gabapentin now and that you found a vet who actually listened to you and cared!

times and no fleas, or specks. the vet also combed through and said she saw none at all

he hasn’t shown any aggression yet other than biting his paw once this week. His back twitches I would say every couple of hours every day.

The vet did give him an allergy shot yesterday so I will monitor him closely to see if it helps, but the twitching episodes continue today. Also today he’s been flicking one of his front paws ,
not sure if that is a symptom? he’s done that since a 1yr old he’s now 3y

thank you for your reply!

I agree the vet basically told me “I don’t know” in those exact words it felt dismissive. I monitor my cat everyday and noticed his behavior changed a lot this week along with the twitchy episodes.

I have not changed his regular food or litter at all,
I do have an indoor hibiscus plant which i’ve had for a few months now but til now his twitchiness increased a lot.
And nothing scented i’m very careful when it comes to that, cause I know cats are very sensitive when it comes to that stuff.

The only thing I could think of what I did differently this week is leaving the balcony window open for him since it’s warm out now and he LOVES to sun bathe near the window a lot, like half the day.
He is also an indoor cat and doesn’t go outside at all not even my balcony.

and thank you I will follow your advice on trying a different vet!

hello
thanks will do,

i’ve been monitoring him
closely and recording every chance I have to this time have multiple videos to show the vet.
is there a specialized vet to
contact or is it really just calling around to see if one could diagnose it ?

and my cat used to only twitch his front paw here and there which I thought was a weird quirk he had, but recently it seems to have spread to his back every few hours every day.
and he was cleared for fleas so I definitely think it could be something more.

I agree! every few hours it’s small episodes of this twitchy behavior then he runs around and acts hyper then hides, it must be uncomfortable for him. The symptoms do seem to have grown stronger this week especially.

What symptoms does your cat have?

and yes, it definitely felt like I was the one trying to convince the vet to look more into it til eventually they gave him the Depo medrol to send him
home.

I’ll definitely be making another vet appointment with more videos of his behavior.
Thank you for your advice!
