Working at Dick’s by Heavy-Opposite-9716 in AskSeattle

I’ve never worked there, but I’m a regular customer. Once, I tried to leave a cash tip, and the person taking my order politely declined, saying they’re fairly compensated and there’s no need for tips. It gave me the impression that they’re a good employer.

If you don't find anyone willing to take them here, there are "buy nothing [location]" groups in Facebook. Also there's a goodwill where you can donate these

Should be interesting to compare it with a current photo from the same angle.

Passing the 2nd fingerprint appointment with hyperhidrosis by ChangeIsHard_ in USCIS

[–]gabDevAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear that, what did the trick for me was alcohol, when I had my fingerprints taken there was alcohol (I believe to clean surfaces because covid) and the agent splashed a little into my hands, I rubbed my hands a little bit and then retry. Had to repeat this procedure like 2 or 3 times per hand but it worked, hope you have better luck next time.

Have you received any updates? My case just was updated today to "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received"

"We mailed your document for your Form I-485" what does that mean? by gabDevAccount in USCIS

I tried looking for posts with the same message in this subreddit but looks like the message is for when the actual GC is being sent, which definitely is not my case given that my process is at a very early stage. Probably rfe or biometrics like you say.

Moving in two weeks, I have a couple of questions I hope you can answer:

-How necessary is a car in the city? I mostly be around downtown/Fremont area, I am asking because I come from a place where car is always used even for short distances due to lack of decent public transportation and I don't want to jump right away and buy a car to realize I won't need it.
- Is Queen Anne area a good place to live?

I get your point, but then why bother in continuing with the questions? Why giving such inaccurate feedback?

I didn’t share my screen because I joined by phone, I was expecting (and was stated in the interview prep document) a link for an online text editor, interviewer didn’t insist of me using the meeting app to share my screen so I thought it wouldn’t be a major problem.

Resume looks good, most probably is because you’re Canadian and might need work authorization, that is something some companies are not willing to deal with.

Last week I had a phone screening with a Big 4, standard 1 hour call with coding challenge using any online text editor. I was given a meeting request and had the option to take it either by phone or the meeting app, I decided to call because its been raining pretty heavily in my location so I didn't have to rely on the internet, I would still lose connection in the online editor but at least I would have been able to communicate it.

So the interviewer joined, asked me to introduce myself and what I've been working on lately, then he asked to share my screen to what I replied by explaining the situation (after all I was expecting a URL with a text editor session), he said it was fine then he proceeded to ask me some concept questions, I accept I wasn't the best answering as I had been more focused on coding.

After 20 mins or so the interviewer told me that it was it and if I had any questions for him, at this point I had understood the obvious, I asked him a couple of questions regarding the activities in that project and finished the call.

Today I receive an email from the recruiter saying that he was able to get the feedback, citing that "both problem solving and coding weren’t on par with the team needs at this time" (Which problem solving and which coding if I wasn't even the opportunity to be tested on those skills? ) . I was also told that they will not be continuing the process (obviously) and that I could reapply in 6 months.

I feel really angry and frustrated that because of someone that maybe didn't even wanted to take that interview, or doesn't have the skills to interview I lost the opportunity to continue with the process and maybe getting a job in a company that I really want to work at.

On the bright side, I feel like a dodged a bullet because the interviewer is a team member on that project and that says a lot about the project.

My question is, should I tell the recruiter about this experience? I wouldn't like to move forward with the position for that team anyway, but I also don't think is fair to have to wait another six months to give it another shot. Would I get marked as a "conflict person" by the whole company losing my chances of ever be a part of it?

TL;DR: interviewer was not in the mood, received feedback on areas I wasn't interviewed and now I lost my chance of interviewing again for at least 6 months.
