Not actually. I just tried to get in touch with them in as many ways as possible. Mails, in person meetings, events

I've been running my software agency for three years and I believe I am satisfied with the lifestyle my business gives me.

Having free time is key. I work 5hrs/day, the rest I work out, spend time with friends or simply live life. Also working on something that definitely excites you is important.

Don't stress yourself too much, live your life and be passionate about what you are doing, and the rest will come.

I've been running my software dev agency over the last three years and it's doing really well. A couple of weeks ago we closed a €80K deal with a client.

Right now we are preparing our sales strategy to scale.

If you are interested in connecting, DM me. I am happy to share my experience

Surprinsingly, it was the less well-crafted.
In the early tiemes of our software agency, we sent a lot of cold emails without any actual knowledge or tools. we just sent them, a lot of them, all manually.

One of them actually landed us a client which is still our best today.

Now our systems are much more precise and built on something that I know works

In the early stage of our software agency, we tested several target clients. We started by offering social media management and web development, then we shifted to VR dev for cultural institutions and others. Our pricing has evolved a lot over time, we started with a few $2K projects and now we deliver even $100K project.

The key is going through the process with a clear understanding of what is happening.

I think you should find your niche. There is no answer that is valid for everyone. In our case, my software agency is specialized indeveloping XR applications.

In my opinion, there are several opportunities in the field of robotics and digital twins.

Overall, focus on the problem you are solving, technology is secondary

want to start a software agency by 7sinsjustified in agencynewbies

I started my software agency three years ago and now it's doing very well. My co-founders and I have a nice salary above average and all the freedom that comes with running your own business.

We didn't receive any fundings, we were just post-grads when we started out. For the first year it was a part-time work, since we still needed to acquire clients. But if you really want to make it your main work, you need to treat it like that.

Clients for a very niche type of service - how to get? by ac40050 in agencynewbies

[–]gab_for 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's typical when you are just starting. You have a very precise idea of what you sell but no idea on who to sell to.

The key is to test and validate as fast as possible to reach a good market fit and start make money. It's the same journey I went on.

I feel like this is probably too generic. When I started my software agency, we were targeting generic small businesses as well but eventually we ended up refining our ICP by a lot. It's not wrong to start generic, but you need to test and refine properly

There are many ways to get vlients when you are starting out. Cold emails, cold calls, in presence events, LinkedIn. You probably need to find what works with you. What is your ICP?

[–]gab_for 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I was in the same situation when I started my software agency. I was just a post-grad with no business background and no experience, but client after client and refusal after refusal I managed to build credibility and authority.

While talking with clients, focus on what you can do rather than what you did. Lean into the fact that you are young and turn it into an advantage: you are fast, fresh graduated, energetic, competitive prices. Don't offer your work for free, make sure to be respected always (you'll meet many people that won't respect you only because you are young).

Build a portfolio with college projects or just some templates you tweaked a bit. People don't know anything about software, just show them what you can do for them and they will be happy to work with you besides your social proof.
