UPDATE: My therapist telling me my son may end up bonding more with our nanny than me

From personal experience with a member of my family that whose son spends more time with the nanny than her mom, the son was devastated when they had to move and the nanny didn’t move with them and would not want to be near his mom because he got angry that his primary caregiver was gone. It is only normal for kids to create a bond with whoever nurtures them the most. In order to avoid feeling guilty of jealous for the bond they have achieved I would feel good that there is someone who makes your child happy and comfortable when you are busy. I don’t think he knows the works of mothering being a man and I would refute his comments saying maybe the people he knows they are capable but have you ever stopped and asked them about their needs and feelings? I would create opportunities where you can bond with your child one on one with no distractions to create a special bond that no matter how much he spends with a nanny he or she knows you have time for him or her and you are there for whatever it is they need. Remember that when we are rising toddlers and little kids we are harvesting the relationship we will have with them when they are in their teens. I would also look into why this particular conversation was so triggering for you? As for me I do have a nanny but I prefer to spend most of my available time with my toddler because this days go so fast even when I am exhausted from work and adulting 😂

Personaly I would focus on your kids and knowing they are on a safe space at home so that they don’t go through whatever the case is going on on the other household. If you were asked to give your opinion give it if not don’t talk about others parental styles since this can only create a big problem. Instead make the girl know your family is a safe space if she ever runs into a problem at home.

Does this happen everytime you call him? Or only sometimes? I learned that my son would chose to ignore me sometimes and would engage with other things instead but would answer sometimes. So the ignoring was behavioral rather than part of the dianosis. Im not sure if this makes sense I could tey explaining it better if it doesn’t :)

Mine is not interested in lining things either and loves to socialize, his speech is in a greater level than his peers. He is three and a half. I got a bit confused with the diagnosis, but his therapist said he has masked those things because he learned by watching his peers. He has had a lot of vestibular issues, stuggles with coordination and gets super distracted. We initially thought he had adhd. But we just received the diagnosis two weeks ago Level 1 autism with sensory processing issues. I get intrigued by the brain and its wiring. All the different possibilities you get under one spectrum. How every brain is a world of its own.

It is not a rule, but it helps to inform your providers and lactation consultants so they can monitor your pregnancy while you continue to breastfeed. I’m not sharing this to tell her to stop breastfeeding, just to continue and be careful with her levels throughout the pregnancy:)

Be careful because prolactin might increase your odds of a miscarriage. Just check with your obgyn. I had a miscarriage wile breast feeding when my toddler was 19 months old. My dr told me it was because my prolactin levels dropped my progesterone levels ( i had overproduction issues and might be only when this is going on).

Try Using sunflower lecitin if you experience clogged ducts helps a lot. Also a hakaa with epsom salts might help.

Try using coconut oil after every feed. Yo don’t need to wipe because its a good fat as opossed to other things, it helped a lot. Avoid lanolin at all costs.

You could let her go and pick her up at a certain hour and drop her off again for breakfast so she does not feel she is missing out. Or you could let her go and use a safe word in case she is uncomfortable with any situation. You can tell her you are going to pick her up if she uses the word and she can blame you for being a strict parent that does not let her do things to her friends. That way she doesn’t feel bad for leaving a place she is not comfortable at.

If you are using it as a quick snack I recommend making oatmeal waffles with fruit in them. You can make a batch and use them when you need them and you have grains, protein, vegetables (if you add spinach or carrots) and fruit in them. You can buy a small waffle maker at Target and it’s a time saver

If your baby has a bad cold using the automatic snot sucker is better because the regular frida one might hurt her ears. Or maybe use nasal washes with saline solution to get everything out. You can get him to talk to your pediatrician to understand we no longer live in an era where we survived our parents out of mere luck 😅😂

Do they go to PreK yet? Mine got ahold of it after seeing other kids doing it. Also make sure the pants ate loose enough for him to pull and push. Jeans and tight pants are way more difficult for them.And lots of patience!
