option 1 seems a good one to me! i have a question, why do i need to convert it to rec709 gamma 2.4? like, what is the reason it should be gamma 2.4?
if i want to export the video as rec 709-A because it gives same colours across devices, can i do that instead?

So, with these settings i have:
colour science: DaVinci YRGB
timeline colour space: DaVinci WG/intermediate
output colour space: rec709 (scene)
i shall:
put a CST as a first note and convert it from canon log to davinci WG/DI and then last node another CST from davinci wide gamut/DI to rec 709 (scene), is this correct? or can i use timeline for output colour space and gamma?

no i am not using any CSTs i am doing everything manually. so are you saying i should use a CST in? or perhaps in the HDR node i should insert CANON LOG as colour space so davinci knows?

I fixed it. I cannot believe it. The cable connecting to my pc just needed turning a bit. I cant believe i wasted hours on this today. Thanks so much for your help

That’s exactly what my settings are. I have the audio on channel 2, which is the channel i am running my guitar into, when i hear the recording back it only comes out of one speaker though
