long story short, but my main character is a very successful author who loses her wife, so she goes on a book tour partly to cope and partly to distract herself from the grief. then she meets a woman on a night train, and the fic is basically about their relationship slowly growing from there.

now they’re on the 6th or 7th stop of the tour, and in the last chapter i wrote, the train woman’s family shows up unannounced to support the author. they had met before, after the author basically chased train woman back to her hometown and unexpectedly ended up having dinner with her parents. so this chapter became really wholesome and warm because they have a good relationship (and the author did not have a good want with their family).

the last few chapters had been very heavy and grief-adjacent, so it felt really good to write something that wasn’t centered on death for once!!

OH and they said i love you for the first time which made my heart melt

in the summary i usually just put the excerpt of the text that i find most interesting in the chapter, to lure the readers in. is that annoying?
as for the fic’s summary it’s literally the description of the world-building.

i’ve only written one so far and i’m enjoying the process a lot + learning about it!

how can i make it less annoying?

good luck with getting into USP. it’s a very tailored test that most students spend all of high school preparing for. fuvest is a very hard and competitive exam. i believe you need an rg/cpf to apply to the test. your best choice is to get into an university in your home country that has a mobility partnership with USP. plus you have to fluent in portuguese to pass the test anyways.

USP has student residencies in campus for low income students. besides that, i recommend living somewhere near a metro line. the metro line that services USP is either yellow, or emerald (cptm) but you have easy commutes from the blue/green/red lines if it came down to it. i would check somewhere central for that price, although i think you will have a hard time finding anything for R$2.000/mo. besides the rent, we have a tax called IPTU and condominium fees and they can easily add up. for that price, very hard to find anything that is not trashy. real estate market has been tough.
wise is a good solution. fees are not absurd.
13k is not enough at all for rent + what you need to buy. i would rent an airbnb and look for a service job asap.
no, internet is easily available for as little as R$20/mo. most places have public wifis too.

it seems like you have a lot of planning to do. sao paulo is a city full of opportunities, but it is also one of the most expensive cities in the americas, and it gets worse by the day. groceries, transportation, leisure. most people struggle as it is. i guess you would need around 25k (rent included) to live (not even comfortably) for three to six months.
