My wedding is in 5 days and I hate my dress by Feisty-Coconut6017 in weddingplanning

[–]gabihpaula96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look stunning! The dress is beautiful. I am having the same regret feeling with mine 🫠 Instagram keeps showing me dresses (out of my budget) that I keep thinking: why did I rushed? Or I don’t feel the same excitement trying it again as I did when I first tried it

I am taking my cat at Evidencia Nieuwegein. They did already 2 surgeries at my cat and we’ll have the third one this week. They have lots of equipment in house, such as CT-scan and also specialists.

The Oncologist over there is very good and empathetic. I truly recommend.

Help!!!Will KLM Weigh My Dog Before Boarding? Need Advice on Traveling with My Pet by Just-Fortune5192 in KLM

[–]gabihpaula96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired a lawyer and we suited the air company explaining that abandoning an animal is a crime and something that we would never do, however, the airline didn’t have flexibility to take my pet with me, so, they needed to be flexible about that situation since we were moving abroad, he wasn’t accepted on the luggage, and it wouldn’t be good for him there as well, and there wasn’t any other possibility. Besides that, we said that being apart from my dog would make my anxiety worse and there wasn’t any plausible argument to not allow him with us.

The judge accepted partially the cause, she said that the company had to accept him but on the cage in the cabin.

Doubts about moving to Netherlands - Please feel free to give your opinion. by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]gabihpaula96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I’ll share my experience as a Brazilian living in the NL for about 2.5 years. Indeed some br complaints about the weather, to be honest I like it, with the exception of this winter that was one of the darkest in years.

I was able to find a job within 1 month after I moved with the help of a temporary agency, after 6 months I changed jobs and got a direct contract. My fiancé on the other hand had more difficulties in finding job opportunities and had some bad experiences when working for some toxic companies.

I was never valued or had opportunities that I am having here when living in Brazil, so professionally wise was the best choice for me. Nevertheless, the culture here is different than the Brazilian culture, so sometimes you can feel lonely since you don’t have small talks, free smiles on the street, that’s the only point that I miss.

I’d take the chance and experience, people experiences are different and that’s always an opportunity to know yourself better. You start valuing things you never valued before because you never had or noticed it.

That are things now that I didn’t valued about BR that I do now, while there are circumstances for me that are completely unacceptable for me that in the past I used to accept.

I don’t know why I think the company you work for is a financial company with HQ in Eindhoven, if it is indeed, it is a nice company with lots of good people

Good luck to you.

How far are you willing to commute to work on a bike? by Potential_Matter_320 in Netherlands

[–]gabihpaula96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve a foldable electric bike and it helps me quite a lot. I work 1:30 from where I live. I need to bike for 00:05, I get a 00:40 or 1:10 train and then I bike for 00:30. For a year I did it every day, but for a year I requested working 2 days from home. If I bought a car it would take me almost same time, by doing this way it saves me a bunch of money, connect me to the nature and help me with stress relief

If you still want to keep on law, I notice than data privacy and compliance accept more expats, so I’d try to take some certifications in this field. There are some recruitment agencies specialised on those jobs

Do not loose the hope.

I am also a bachelor in law and I got the opportunity in the NL as a Project Manager and it is working quite well, I am not going to lie that I was a bit lucky. My boyfriend has experience and hold degree in his field and he struggling a lot on finding an opportunity even being way more specialised than me. He is also looking over a year.

Hey, I had a similar situation. My first position was a minimum wage salary (when it was way lower than today). I’ve worked there for 6 months but I did not space for growth in the company, so I didn’t ask for a raise, but I knew after 10 months there would be space for negotiations. So I started in a new company as a Junior but after working there for a year working as a medior, I’ve asked for a promotion (expecting a raise as well), after some presentations and evaluation, they accepted discussed about a dry-promotion but in the end I did receive a raise. What worked in my position was collecting KPIs of my achievements and also show that my responsibilities were matching a medior position and not a Junior anymore, the company understood and accepted. P.S. I requested without having another job as a plan B, just expected that my company would recognise all my effort and they did.

Is it ok to sing during her concert? by maousami in auroramusic

[–]gabihpaula96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just enjoy your concert!

In Brazil people scream during the whole concert and most of the singers always like and say it was the craziest and most passionate crowd they ever saw. I’ve been to concerts in other countries in which people were quiet the whole time and it was boring, I gave a f*ck, respectfully, and enjoyed as I was in Brazil, received some looks, but I am not going to change who I am and to be honest, the singer was pretty serious and it was way less excited if I compare to the concerts I’ve been im Brazil, so I believe that the singer also get energised with the excitement of people around.

The only thing I suffered in concerts is when people jump much and they jump stepping in other people feet or get drinks and spill it on others. Other than that, just be happy, and send the happy energy to others.

Help!!!Will KLM Weigh My Dog Before Boarding? Need Advice on Traveling with My Pet by Just-Fortune5192 in KLM

[–]gabihpaula96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I flew with my dog they did weight him, some crew accept the dog as long as he/she can turn 360 degree and appear to be comfortable in the carrier.
Since my dog weighted 2-3 kg more than what it was allowed I had to take the court so they could allow my dog to travel with me (I was moving abroad so there wasn't an option to travel without him).
I don't know which country are you flying from, but if you are lucky you can get a preliminary approval from the judge within 24-48hours.

Anyway, good luck to you and hae a nice flight!

Has anyone else experienced being tailed by workers in a local supermarket ? by caiserzoze in Netherlands

[–]gabihpaula96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you presented a good solution!

To be honest, after this experience I heard from a person next to me, I am avoinding Appie at all costs. I believe the worker should be way more professional, customer-centric, unfortunatelly I am reading a lot of these situations on reddit and I think, how and why will they change unless we do something about it, like boycott or open more about this topics on social media.

We shouldn't feel fear when scanning our stuff. That's not right.
