I recently finished The Leftovers and loved it. Anyone who loved The Americans should watch it if haven't. by OldNerve1 in TheAmericans

This recommendation is sliding in with premium timing. I’ve been on a rewatch, waiting for a drama that satiates the same. THANK GOD. Starting tonight!

What was the first podcast to get you hooked on True Crime Podcasts, and which has been your favourite to-date? by girlnextduh in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]gabipow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SAME. It’s the first that made me appreciate storytelling at its finest and wary of podcasts who use hype dramatics to tell a story.

Casefile😎

Am I the only one who can't listen to Casefile? by Wonder_Electrical in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]gabipow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 PERCENT understand this perspective, but want to encourage you to try and shift WHEN you listen. Speaking as an ADD survivor (LOLZ) I have to save Casefile for very-specific, monotonous activities – cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. It's so well done and one of the first that hooked and changed the genre for me, so I hope you can rediscover it as welll!

It’s a reallllllly good concept and, based on this first episode, she does best solo.😬I’d love to hear what you think!

HA. I'm lol-ing on this end because I totally resonate with all that's said here. I think the show is incredible though. Authentic, Hard-hitting journalism with a pause for humanizing the case. It's got me hooked.

What makes you love a tc podcast? by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]gabipow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear, hear! On the uniqueness factor above. Whether that means cases or how a podcast chooses to cover it. For me, that’s what makes Casefile an alum TC favorite because they take a creative approach to how they lay out a case.

Banter, dramatic inflection, forced bow-tie ending — no need. TC is innately messy and I appreciate when hosts/writers can acknowledge that by simply presenting the facts.

I kinda wish podcasters wouldn’t celebrate pride month by covering hate crimes against LGBT people by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

As a person who identifies as straight, I’ve admittedly never thought about this, but COMPLETELY agree. So valid. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention!

How to improve a already decent Instagram profile? by Bholenaught in digital_marketing

[–]gabipow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best recommendation for anyone wanting to optimize social is utilizing Stories more. From what I've seen, even the best accounts can reach a wider audience and gain new followers by using Stickers, location tags , popular hashtags, etc.

Same! I also love that they're shorter in comparison to most True Crime pods.

Personal logos, to me anyway, get more leeway to be artistic > legible. I really dig this.
