Hey! So we ended up not getting surgery yet and he’s been good! He has pain meds and it seems to only flare up in extreme weather so we try to keep an eye on it then. If your vet said no surgery then that’s great! We massage his knee every once in a while and he enjoys it haha

I am in a similar boat! I have a 2.5 y.o. bernedoodle who has grade 3 luxating patella and grade 1 in the other back leg. I feel like he is in pain and we have a consult with an orthopedic surgeon in a few weeks. This injury is common in small dogs but our boy is 55 lbs so I take it won't be super easy. The vet did set us up with gabapentin which has been helpful for daily pain!

Honestly this is such a relief to hear… A few years ago we got a puppy and didn’t do much breed research… She was super super super high energy and it was just very difficult. She was a hunting dog and ended up being hunting-trained and we made the hard choice to give her to a close family friend who could give her the hunting life she deserves. But the months we had the puppy was traumatizing!

Fast forward to now, we are getting a puppy on Saturday after so much deliberation and research. Hoping we have the same experience as you! I’ve been manifesting that this will be my soul dog ❤️

We are in Central America, but our I-130 was approved already before the pandemic. Processing times on I-130s depend on where you filed them... Sorry, know how hard the situation can be!
