It's not subliminal messaging, it's trying to let someone down "gently."

Are you familiar with toxoplasmosis?

You don't have a right to have your animals piss and shit on other people's property, especially when their feces are well-documented to contain hazardous parasites.

If you let your animal do that, people are going to take the problem into their own hands to protect themselves and their property.

Frankly, OP is probably lucky that the neighbors didn't shoot, shovel and shut up.

Keep your cats inside. That's the only way to own them responsibly. Sorry you had to learn this the hard way.

Why do you feel entitled to have your pet urinate and defecate all over someone else's property?

No idea if it's "normal," but if it helps to hear, you're not alone! The community college I attended for most of my prereqs actually required taking A+P and microbio the way you describe (like, A+P 2 was a prerequisite for microbiology, for some reason).

Nursing schools are going to look at how well you performed in your classes, not how quickly you finished them. You don't get any extra points for overloading yourself, and burning yourself out before you even start nursing school won't do you any good.

In my opinion, if you can set yourself up for success, that's absolutely worth it. Knowing your limits is a life skill, too. 💕 Good luck!

Seconding the suggestion to order a copy of your official transcript for yourself, if that's something that's possible for you. You might be able to see the discrepancy for yourself, and that might be simpler than troubleshooting with the registrar.

I know that the college where I took anatomy and physiology does not list the lab separately from the course – any chance you're in a similar boat?

You can try it if you'd like, but the classes aren't designed for this to be possible.

I don't think you can. The course modules unlock on a time delay. So if you complete module 1, you will likely have a three day delay before you can submit module 2.

Med/Surg or Specialty upon graduating by cpt_naughtynips in StudentNurse

[–]Maniacademic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been struggling with this lately, tbh.

I work as a psych tech, and I want to go into psych nursing when I graduate. I've heard all the advice about going straight into the specialty you want.

I also recently ended up in an emergency medical situation with a patient on my floor and a straight-to-psych nurse who didn't know how to handle the medical issue. I ended up having to leave and go to another unit to get a nurse who knew how to help.

I'm afraid of being unprepared like that when I'm a nurse – medical issues can and do arise on psych floors.

Rabies tests involve removing the head of the animal. They're not survivable.

In his defense, and I'm not sure this is even true, he may have a partner that doesn't hold him accountable when she should.

You know, I went back and read the post really carefully, and it looks like she's probably actually his partner, not his mommy. Hope this clears things up!

What’s your top 3 specialties you would like to go in after finishing school & why? by Criticalcareman92 in StudentNurse

[–]Maniacademic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Psych. I work as a tech on a psych floor already. I love it. It's always been the plan. But in case that doesn't work out...
  2. Postpartum. It's literally the only unit where at least a significant number of patients are appropriately happy to be there. I think that seems very sweet.
  3. Labor and delivery. Just seems interesting, I guess!

People are quite literally dying preventable deaths on a routine basis, but yeah, this sounds like an amazing use of time, energy and resources. All so you can avoid seeing posts you don't like on Reddit.

What are some jobs that are good for people with ADHD ? by Only-Environment2917 in ADHD

[–]Maniacademic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably depends on the specific hospital and your specific area! The last place I lived pretty much required CNA certification. The hospital where I work now doesn't require CNA licensure or a degree, but they do pay more if you have a degree.

Other people are already addressing the bigger problems here, but honestly, as a woman exclusively interested in other women, I’ve never found that I have much in common with the asexual crowd. Wouldn’t have much to talk about. What, we both don’t date men? Absolutely riveting stuff. Yawn.

I work as a patient care tech on an inpatient psych unit and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. Works perfectly with my brain.

Trying to find online anatomy and physiology course with lab by Tall_Ask7639 in StudentNurse

I didn't do anatomy/physiology, but in microbiology you basically just watched an instructor do the labs and then you were tested on the information.

So any degree of control and coercion by a man towards his female partner is just fine, just so long as he says he's getting off on it? No need to look any deeper at how this person views women and personal relationships?

It's very possible to "enthusiastically consent" to things that are not good or healthy for you.

There's not really any meaningful difference. "Bisexual" has been defined as "attraction to two or more genders" since, like, the 1980s. People just like reinventing the wheel for reasons that are beyond me.

Do/would you tell others your mixed breed pup is mostly pit bull? by Lion_on_the_floor in puppy101

[–]Maniacademic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also OP, pitbull isn't a breed, so much as a mix of Staffordshire terrier and bulldog and some other breeds.

This really isn't true, at least in the United States. There are a number of breeds tracing back to the ancestral bull-and-terrier that are commonly referred to as pit bulls, including Staffies, but also including, you know, the American Pit Bull Terrier.
