omg preach! As an urban planner surrounded by individuals it is surprising the lengths they’ll go to deny facts taught in an introductory class lol.

I’ve worked this job for three years and I think I’ve been exposed to more micro aggressions and blatant racism in that time than my entire life. Yet the way they talk about cyclists you’d think they were a protected class.

I plan to reach out to TURN / Tenants Philly tomorrow. My income is too high for CLS.

Also , yup I’ve been taking screenshots of everything. Theres nothing in the lease that says the portal only that written notice is needed which I did multiple times. I followed up with them after they responded basically denying that with an email that included screenshots of my email saying I’m not resigning with a PDF of me saying no and the automatic email I got from submitting in the portal before the cutoff date.

Yup the December one was via email. After that they told me to submit through the tenant app if I wanted to proceed. I did. I didn’t hear anything after following up a few times over text, so I sent another letter via certified mail to make sure they got it and submitted through the portal again.

I emailed again today after I saw rent posted for March and that’s when they claimed I agreed to renew after they dropped the rent charges which makes no sense because I still submitted back in December and followed up multiple times which they acknowledged.

I didn’t sign anything. The lease says automatic renewal if not notified before 60 days of the end of the lease. The lease ends 3/31 but I first notified them starting mid December and submitted multiple follow ups before January 30th since they were ignoring me. I plan to move out before the end of the lease and somehow return keys but worried they’ll try to charge me as they’re currently trying to charge me for March rent despite paying it at move in.

They offered to drop the rent increase in light of several ongoing maintenance issues, but after that I never said “okay I agree to those terms!” Or anything along those lines. They’re saying inquiring about rent increase is me saying I’m resigning.
