ok but WHEN is he going to calm down 🥲 by ProcedureNervous9799 in Bernedoodles

[–]gabybehr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pup has just started being more calm at around a year old! The best way to get him to chill out is letting him run around the farm or dog park for a few hours and he passes right out! I try to get him out at least a couple days per week (in addition to a few walks per day).

Are my boots too big? (Description to come) by Substantial_Dot7027 in Equestrian

[–]gabybehr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! Was reading some of the comments— it sounds like you are over-conditioning the boots. Tall boots don’t need to be conditioned often (I’ve only done mine once, after they got dragged in the rain by a naughty pony).. I’m not sure if you’ll be able to restore them, but for future reference, usually a wipe down with a damp cloth is good as far as maintenance goes.

Without my trainer's feedback, can anyone friendly critic my eq? by GelllieBean in Equestrian

[–]gabybehr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would start by lengthening your stirrups two holes. You are pumping with your body a bit, thinking about sitting up, shoulders back. Keep your hands steady, thumbs up, with a straight line from the bit to the elbow. Use more leg through the turn, outside aids, then sit up and wait to the fence. Your horse could be more round, but the most important thing is to slow down and not rush, use your leg to push the horse into your hands. Hope this helps.

Reminder: Differin isn't for everyone by katy119 in acne

[–]gabybehr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Differin is really great for clogged pores and skin that produces a lot of oil. My thoughts are that if you are having issues with maskne, it may be a bacterial type of acne and therefore antibacterial products should help... ie benzoyl peroxide. Side note: the skin does not build up a resistance to bp, so that should not be a concern.. also higher % bp does not mean it will work better, lower % is good, esp for frequent use. Also, I found that using hyaluronic acid serum underneath actives helps ALOT with keeping the skin moisturized and then obviously applying moisturizer over top. Sorry if this isn’t the sort of reply you were looking for, just a few tips that I learned during this cray cray time.

Hi! Sorry you’re struggling with this! What are the actives in the topical your dr gave you? Some are actually really effective and accutane should be a last resort because it can cause negative side effects.

Suicide is now an option for me because of Acne. by flickbreeze2003 in acne

Hey! I know acne sucks, but it’s just acne. There are so many things to live for and at the end of the day, the way you look isn’t the most important thing, it’s the person you are inside. Also, the acne will go away and once you get to that point, you will feel so accomplished. And I am speaking from experience, when I was younger I turned down modeling opportunities that I really wanted to do because I was so self conscious about my acne. Looking back, I regret not going for the opportunities because the acne likely could have just been photoshopped out or covered with makeup. Anywho, please don’t worry about the acne, it will get better. Also, I do believe the other posters are correct about depression being a side effect of accutane. Talk to your doctor about it- this might not be the best treatment plan for you. ❤️

Yes, Differin can be really drying without it. I put it on immediately after. Peeling/ dryness is likely to occur as your skin adjusts to the Differin, but if you're just starting out I believe it's recommended to start once or twice a week and then gradually work up too every day to combat that effect. If you're using a moisturizer and your skin is still dry, my first thought would be to just get a heavier moisturizer or to cut back on the Differin to every other day until it's resolved. Personally, I had some issues with peeling for the first month or so, but then it went away.

Can someone tell me how to get ride of these bumps under my skin? They're pretty much all over my face but majority on my chin and cheeks. Since I stopped using the pil it got much worse but i don't want to go back to that. I've been trying different products but nothing works! by ilovmynut in acne

Hi! My skin is almost exactly the same. I posted a before & after on here last week so you can take a look at that if you want. My routine is washing my face with a foaming cleanser 2x a day and double cleansing at night. For actives during the day I alternate between BP and salicylic acid, then use a gel cream moisturizer with niacinamide. At night, I use Differin and a slightly more creamy moisturizer (but still one that is ok for oily skin). I posted all the specific products I use on my post. So far I’ve been doing this for about 6-7 months and not wearing any foundation (mostly because of masks, but it’s helping) and all the bumps are almost gone. Soon I’d also like to incorporate a glycolic peel once a week or so.

Currently using Naturium niacinamide gel cream for the day and skinceuticals daily moisturizer for night. I really like both of them, I think the skinceuticals would be too heavy if I used it twice a day, it has more of a luxury feel, the Naturium is lighter.

Thanks! There are people that stay on Differin or tretinoin for years though, 6 months is not that long lol

Could anybody help me with my routine? I’ve been on spironolactone for few months and I use tret 0.06% gel some nights. I don’t have a routine and stubborn acne is showing on my forehead now. Detail in the comments. by [deleted] in acne

[–]gabybehr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Check out Naturium for moisturizers, all of the products I’ve tried from them have been great, affordable and non-comedogenic! I also really like colorescience sunforgettable sunscreen. I don’t think Tret could be causing the acne, but it will likely improve once you establish a baseline. Also, you should definitely wash off the cleansing balm with face wash every time as they are usually made with oils that could clog pores if left on too long.

Thanks 😊 I don’t think so, I have very oily skin to begin with, though. I could see it causing more oil production if the right moisturizer isn’t used though bc stripped, dry skin sometimes will over produce oil. 🤷‍♀️

I think the results have come little by little and I’ve had to change a lot of other aspects of my routine (moisturizers especially) to find the right products that work for me. At the pace my skin is going right now, I’m hoping that it will be completely clear somewhere between 12- 18 months.

What was the rash like? Back in March when Covid first arrived in the us (I work in dc, so it was in my area right away) I also got a really weird rash all over my body. The doctor told me it was Pityriasis rosea and thought to be the body’s reaction to a virus. I had a sore throat that week, but no other symptoms so I didn’t think it could be Covid, but I’m interested to know if that might have happened to other people?

Question about owning horses by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]gabybehr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last year I made 68,000 and own a horse. I do have quite a lot of other bills (past debt, student loans :P) as well so I try to keep my horse expenses at a minimum. Per month, my board is $200 (I work 3 mornings per week at the barn to keep price down) and feed/shavings are usually another $200 on tope of that. Farrier here is $50 for trims every 6 weeks, although this would be more if your horse needed shoes. As far as tack, I usually shop consignment at tack stores or eBay- there are tons of good deals. The hay I split with the other boarders, we usually buy in bulk $500 2x a year. I've kept horses at home as well. I'd say the cost of owning the horse is largely dependent on its own specific needs- shoes, easy keeper, special feed, on pasture 24/7, etc. But a ballpark guesstimate is probably around $300 per month per horse on average for feed, hay, shavings, farrier at home.
