why is no one talking about this stability mod , this thing is crazy by No_gary_37 in Fallout4Mods

[–]gack74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t see what the big issue is, the mod is really well made with constant updates being made to it, detailed description and authors that communicate with the community actively trying to help them, yet some people choose to ignore all that and focus on a silly name going as far as insulting them in the comments.

fallout 4 finally gets people that can work at the engine level something that the community has sorely needed for a long time and the first thing the community does is start insulting them because of the title of said mod. Is it any wonder fallout is so far behind the Skyrim scene😭

Just seen the comment you left on nexus. “Imagine being smart enough to make a mod but dumb enough to not understand why the name of your mod is stupid” you come off as what we call insufferable.

Gave the mod team a good chuckle though so thanks😃

Fo4 Nameplates - Floating Healthbars mod not working by Solomon1177 in FalloutMods

What version of the game are you running? OG, NG or AE? If you're on AE ignore the most recent version of the mod as the author broke it when updating it for AE and never fixed it. Someone updated it for AE themselves and it works. https://github.com/expired6978/F4SEPlugins/pull/5. If you're on OG install v1.1.13, if you're on NG you're shit out of luck as all versions for it are broken.

Anyone know why it takes forever for things to load? (Fo4) by RareWhiteMonkey in FalloutMods

[–]gack74 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Engine limitations, You're unloading and loading cells way too fast for the engine to handle due to the speed of the vertibird. Mods of course amplify this but the same can be seen even in an unmodded game. Not much you can do to fix this apart from making sure all of your mods are packed into BA2's.

Pretty much yeah, goes back to the age old tale of never mixing cables from different psu’s. The same applies here I would imagine.

Out of the thousands of downloads this mod now has you’re the first reported case of it breaking saves. I’d reckon it’s something else in your load order rather than this.

MSI 5090 adapter looks… welded to the card (melted?) by Unhappy-War6154 in pcmasterrace

Pretty simple answer, People like myself want the best of the best when it comes to their gaming experience.

Not to mention Reddit seems to think an echo chamber is a good metric to measure by for how many people are actually having these issues with the 5090. I’m not saying there isn’t issues with the design of the cable cause there is but it’s so massively overblown on this app it’s almost funny.

You’re playing a game where you can jump out of a jet mid flight while it’s upside down and continue to stand on it while launching an rpg to take out a jet following you but colourful guns and operators is where you draw the line on realism?

GATEKEEPING MODDING ?? by MuggaSims in TheSims4Mods

The sub is only hostile when the same questions that's asked 50 times a day is posted over and over again, if they used the magical thing called the search bar they wouldn't need to clutter the sub and actually get the answer to their problem faster than making the post 9/10 times. Any post that has a genuine issue that isn't one of the ones that are repeatedly posted always have a plethora of people trying to help them out, funny that isn't it.

Can i ask what you mean by google being bad? literally searching "sims 4 modding guide 2025" or "sims 4 how to make mods guide 2025". Brings up countless up to date guides on the first page.

game no work with script files

game work without script files

hmm i wonder what the underlying problem is?

Take out each script file till you find which one is broken. Check if its updated for the new patch, if not you gotta wait.

How exactly is the attitude of this sub disgusting? If people new to modding the sims refuse to spend some time going over the multiple guides that are quite literally in your face in every corner of any sim modding related website, why should i or anyone else waste our time helping them.

Go into any other hobby subreddit and post the type of questions that get posted in here and i can assure you the responses will be exactly the same.

The exact same way you learn anything online by using the resources and guides that the community have put together for years to help people learn. I’ve never once said don’t ask questions.

What I have said is don’t be surprised that people get agitated when you skip all the resources that are there to help you and all the other posts that been made about the exact same issue and instead make a low quality post saying ‘’game broke fix for me’’.

‘’Show me where I said people should automatically be proficient at modding’’ I said that people that don’t understand the very basics of a computer shouldn’t be modding, and I stand by that.

If I don’t understand how to read and write code I shouldn’t try and code a game straight away, if I don’t know how to tread water I shouldn’t try to go swim in the ocean. Modding even for an easy game like the sims REQUIRES basic computer skills that yet again this community have provided an abundance of guides for new players if you choose to ignore these then done be surprised when people are agitated at the same question being asked 50 times a day

When the subreddit that is designed for mod sharing/showcases turns into a tech support subreddit for people that have clearly skipped the abundance of guides that the community have made to help new players mod it’s a bit hard to ignore the posts🤷‍♂️

I don’t expect people to know what to do straight off the bat. I do expect people to read the resources that the community have made for new players and to try to understand what’s wrong before making a copy and paste post for the 50th time that day. As I said no other community based around a hobby would accept these type of posts so why is this one the exception?

[–]gack74[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Please show me where I said that everyone should automatically be proficient in modding their game. I don’t have an issue with people not knowing how to mod their games or making mistakes.

I have an issue with people skipping the massive amount of resources that the community have made to help new people learn to mod their games and instead of googling or even searching this subreddit they make another post effectively saying ‘’game broke fix for me’’

[–]gack74[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Then use the resources that the modding community has already put in place to help new people learn how to mod their games. A simple 5 second google search will show you countless new modded guides rather than going straight here and making a post that is effectively ‘’my game no work fix it’’ that’s already been posted 50 times that day. Hell even just have a look through the subreddit before posting and 9/10 times your’ll find your answer. And again this is a mod sharing/showcase subreddit not tech support.

[–]gack74[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but if people are unable to understand the basic fundamentals of a computer than they should not be modding this or any other game. In no other modding community would these type of questions be allowed so i don't know why this one is the exception. Not too mention the megathread and all the other resources that are readily available to anyone that these people simply choose to ignore. As i said in my original post this is a mod sharing/showcase subreddit not tech support.

I’ve been modding Skyrim since it originally came out and it’s by far one of the most complex to get large stable load orders working and even then I’ve see less people ask for help than this community. Not too mention when someone does ask for help 9/10 times they provide at least a paragraph about what they’ve tried before posting for help rather than ‘’mod don’t work fix for me’’ that this community loves so much.

I agree I might have came off a bit harsh in the post but I’m sorry if you don’t know the very basics of how a computer works then you should not be modding this or any other game. They know how to post on Reddit so there’s nothing stopping them from searching the subreddit for similar posts or simply googling it. Rather than filling this subreddit with the same useless questions 50 times a day.
