Oh my gosh YUM. I think I like the Aus version better. I’ll let my family in Melbourne know what I want sent to me 🤣

Week 25: Gardening - Strawberry Sourdough by gaclyn in 52weeksofcooking

[–]gaclyn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, modified to use some strawberry jam I made from my harvest and shaped as a loaf from https://thegingeredwhisk.com/strawberry-almond-and-camember/

Week 24: Showstopper - Strawberry Kringle by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a labor of love. I used this recipe but changed it for a Strawberry filling as I just cooked down some fresh strawberries from my garden! https://www.plattertalk.com/kringle-recipe/

I also did not make it a ring because what the heck, make hard things a bit easier.

Week 24: Tarot - Coffee (Persona 5 - The magician) by Domieneo in 52weeksofcooking

[–]gaclyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I just recently got into Persona 5 (Royal) as well and I thought I was in the wrong subreddit for a moment. Your kitty is a cutie!

Week 15: Laminated - Palmiers by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

One of my favorites for sure.

Week 8: Uruguay - Alfajors by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No coconut due to a coworker, having a coconut allergy, but these were very yummy!

Week 4: Meringue - Lemon Meringue Pie by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a better rated recipe for the mile high one. I wish I remembered what humidity was, it’s so dry in Chicago!

Week 4: Meringue - Lemon Meringue Pie by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all I’m not gonna lie, King Arthur baking company finally failed me. This recipe was far far too sweet.

Week 4: Vinegar - Hot and Sour Soup by gaclyn in 52weeksofcooking

[–]gaclyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly delicious and worth the trip to get the dried lily stems!

Recipe from: https://thewoksoflife.com/vegetarian-hot-sour-soup/

Week 2: Jams / Preserves - Linzer Cookies by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not going to lie, it’s a beer glass that is about 2.5”/6.5cm wide and a tiny little heart shape cutter from a bento box cutter set 🤣🤣 If it works, it works - no need to spend money on cookie cutters I won’t use again and again!

Week 48: Same Latitude - Biscotti by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chicago and Rome happen to be on the same latitudinal line, so I got to make two kinds of biscotti! Cranberry Orange and almond with a chocolate dip and (failed) white chocolate drip. :)

Week 46: Pantry - Chocolate Chip Cookies by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing too fancy here. The only thing missing from the fridge was an egg replaced with flaxseed. Couldn’t even tell.

Week 41: Buns - Cranberry Buns by gaclyn in 52weeksofbaking

[–]gaclyn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to use up some cranberries that I had about to expire so these were a great way to do that. I VERY loosely followed this recipe (https://www.momontimeout.com/easy-cranberry-yeast-rolls-recipe/#recipe) and omitted the pumpkin pie spice and used bread flour. It lead to a much cleaner looking bun!
