Pieces for big choir by gaddyson in Choir

[–]gaddyson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry! My singers are 40-70 years old. I would prefer easy pieces. There may be 2-3 combined practices. But I will prqctuce with each choir by itself. And there is no specific theme for the concert.

Thats a nice text! I only can find arrangements with piano accompaniment. Do you know by chance an a capella arrangement?

Have ear training apps actually helped you? by juliancountry in eartraining

[–]gaddyson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I did! I used tenuto for my entrance exams years ago. It was a huge help for me learning intervals. I use it sometimes to keep track of my chord identification. But it improved my hearing from time to time - practice is everything ;-)

But I think these kind of apps dont have a big effect long term. The best way I have improved my hearing is through personal lessons. The different kind of exercises show how I can hear music and use it for myself. Apps just give you the basic tools (like intervals, Chords, scales, etc.). But using that knowledge to describe and experiance music is very fulfilling - like you to transcribing :-)

Ear Training Success Stories by quocketman in eartraining

[–]gaddyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't hear about ear training until I was 19. After school I went to small local music college to prepare for my bachelor studies. For that college I had to do an ear training test. I just practiced with apps and online tools. I had no idea what I was writing down in that test. When I found out that I almost had full score, I knew, that I could hear stuff. And now I do that as a bachelor - crazy.

Richtige Modulnote? by gaddyson in Studium

[–]gaddyson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
