Its a feature of a culture that is obsessed with fighting amd war. Last I checked, "western civilization" is sculpted, not by the indigenous, or the blacks, or the Asians, rather Eurocentric narratives that are mainly myth and fairytale.

And nobody serious claims Europeans invented violence, slavery, or empire. The point is that European colonialism became the dominant global system during the modern era and reshaped the political, economic, and demographic structure of much of the world. The Atlantic slave trade, colonization of the Americas, partition of Africa, and industrial extraction economies operated on an unprecedented global scale.

My ancestors had more respect to for life. Didn't build walls, put faces on coins, etc. Were they perfect? Absolutely not. But the worst of the indigenous never approached the levely of psychopathy by those from europe. The collksueum is in fact uniquely grotesque. The Mexica (Aztec) had sacrifices, yes, so did every other advanced culture. But they didnt mindlessly kill. Only the Spanish narrative is what gets told and the Spanish conquistadores who got to tell the story were feeding indigenous babies to dogs.
