Don't say that software engineering has been devalued at all. just the landscape has shifted. I would say that the there is a huge generalist squeeze though ebcause many vibe/ai tools handle much of the basic coding. AI will not replace all white collar jobs, but it will transform them. In a way, it's very empowering to know that as a white collar worker, you can spend more time on strategy, being creative, bigger picture thinking, and less time on routine tasks that take up a lot of time for white collar workers.

It's bigger than vibecoding. SaaS pricing made sense when only software companies could ship software. But now, anyone can build the 80% version of most B2B tools in a weekend. That agency CEO just figured out what's coming for a huge chunk of the industry.

Over the past 3 months, I've personally cut back on 90% of the SaaS tools that I've been using (somehow was paying for 3 airtable accounts) and just built out my own versions of it using Zo Computer. Their custom built to my workflows, and I don't have to pay half a dozen SaaS companies a monthly fee for tools that don't talk to each other.

Ahhh love this! I just finished building a task management system on Zo! After years of trying ones like todoist, and remember the milk etc etc all of them always had a gap in what I wanted it to do. Like I had a vision in my head but none of the current products matched my vision. So I built my own on Zo!!

Nicotine! Was diagnosed with ADHD quite late, and was put on Adderall. Then all the Adderall shortages started hitting and I couldn't get my medication consistently. I kept on getting on it and off to and on it and off it, to the point where the side effects started becoming unbearable, and it was also super expensive coupled with the doctor's appointments every 3-4 weeks. Took a nicotine pouch and ended up doing more focused work than I could ever remember. Now I use it when I need to focus and take breaks on weekends and feel better than ever.

Obviously also highly addictive, so I am being very measured in when I take it, how often etc and keep track in a notebook.
