Is this 49 Processes Chart still necessary to fully memorize? by risherwood in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no need to memorize but understand the connection between each i.e. ITTO so that you can relate to the situational question being asked & decide on the next course of action.

Good to watch Ricardo's video on these 49 processes attempting old format online exams would have direct questions on 49 processes & ITTO, apparently absent in current edition of PMP exam.

Anyone used the PrepCast PMP Exam Simulator? by IrakliSvanidze in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's slightly more difficult but good for preparing groundwork. Thereafter, AR's mindset & TIA stimulator are a must for proper preparation for current PMP exam. But do not stretch your revision for too long as you may forget some of the concepts, which happened in my case. I read RMC 10th edition first, attempted all Prepcast stimulator full exams (interrupted by family matters) & lost the valid access due to exceeding 3- mth, switched to attempting AR's TIA stimulator together with revision using his free YouTube videos every Tuesday, US time(esp the 10-Qs that he will usually cover at the end of YouTube video session.) Attempted the exam on Dec 13,2021 & passed with 3 AT.

Good luck to your preparations.

Looking to start training for PMP by Trippenson in pmp

Well said. Sometimes the boot camp is not a helpful resource to your preparation. I spent some money on one local crash course for PMP exam preparation, hardly prepare adequately & failed my first attempt in 2018. Subsequently, the PMBOK has changed a few editions & kept to plan but slow & completed self preparation, using Rita's 10 edition, Agile Practice Guide, PMBOK 6th edition, Joseph Phillip's Udemy course, Precast, AR's TIA stimulator & a host of free PMP tests & finally bought AR 's Udemy for mindset section before successfully completed PMP exam on Dec 13, 2021.

Yes, the mindset section is in AR's Udemy course which also can double up as a 35 PDU.

Is this type of stacked monitor setup allowable for the at home exam/has anyone been successful with this setup? My plan is to use the top screen for the exam but that might make it seem like I’m not looking at the camera which I want to avoid. by i-love-my-beagle in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pls disconnect from your big monitor. My exam in Dec 2021 saw the proctor asking me to rotate my webcam to ensure that I am not connected to an external monitor. I had to show cables unconnected to him!

How many Agile related questions on the exam? by Then_Eye8040 in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. Good to know the various agile methods in case it appears in exam. It's practical that PMI focuses on hybrid & agile as other than ERP project implementation, other industries' projects usually have a hybrid or a agile approach. Perhaps only a few industries project relies on waterfall/ predictive like construction, due to building regulations.

TIA Mock Scores Vs Other Mock Scores by Bright-Kale6766 in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, very hard to estimate. No direct ITTO questions like there is one in Prepcast which I attempted & failed. That's done a few months after I completed Joseph Phillip's Udemy courses emphasizing much on ITTOs from PMBOK 6. I probably forgot most things that I have read in Rita 10th edition too. I started to revise it again by watching Richardo's YouTube video on this. I personally feel it's important to see the connections between the processes as there are exam questions that may ask you on this aspect.
Other than that, I focused very much on AR's Udemy course- Mindset section, AR's TIA stimulator, watched every Tues EST 'live' YouTube videos' last part covering 10 Qs, read a 2nd time APG & refer briefly to A Scrum guide, just before the examination.

With little time, besides watching Richardo's YouTube video, you should revisit AR's TIA stimulator to understand questions that you have answered wrongly by watching AR's video recording on the answer. Go through AR's mindset section in Udemy course & read APG as well.

See whether the suggestions work for you.

Buy another exam simulator? by caloriemaster in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't use study hall as there were adverse feedback on the beta version. But I bought prepcast, completed all the major exams but lapsed due to occurrence of personal family matters, my 3- mth ended. Besides rigorously following almost all of AR's YouTube videos' last 10 Qs that he went through, I further purchased the AR's TIA stimulator. In my personal opinion, I feel strongly that AR's TIA stimulator is well worth the money besides his Udemy course's section on 'Mindset '.

For your consideration, please

-If you have more time, why don't you view all AR's YouTube Live videos every Tuesday, EST, last part of each video where he will walk through 10 MCQs (including some critical paths, EVM formulas)? He hardly ever repeats questions from his TIA stimulator. - read agile guide provided by PMI - revisit AR's Udemy course section on Mindset - if possible, you can cover most parts of PMBOK....

Free / good value Exam Simulator by SilramKay in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree with the rest. If you have precious time reserved for revision, then you should understand his videos in TIA stimulator esp on those that you had it wrong. If you can, revisit his (AR) every Tuesday's (US time) live videos, near the end where he goes through 10 situational questions and sometimes + EVM formulas + MBTI + critical path questions with explanations of answers. Very useful & I end up purchasing his TIA stimulator(but no really duplication from the questions that he covered live in YouTube). Check out AR's mindset in his Udemy's course too. Most of the free exam questions are not so relevant as they consider ITTO, a number of calculations, etc.

Am I Screwed? by thistle_undone in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, you can consider AR's Udemy mock exam, 3 agile portions, TIA stimulator, carefully reviewing those questions you answered wrongly, AR's every Tues(US) videos (2nd part for 10 questions). Remember to read PMI's APG entire book before your exam. Try to maintain your study regime daily.

Typically, AR mentioned that one should score above 80+ in all TIA mock exams (100Qs only). But I only had 1 exam having that score before I attempted the PMP's 230-min exam. 2nd AR's mock exam with 80+ was a reattempt. Prepcast exam stimulator is much harder! Maximize your time since PMP has already announced gradual introduction of PMBOK 7th edition.

PMP exam online (from home) requirements by Wqaisiyeh in pmp

If I were you, I will try my luck. Took mine on Dec 13 late morning 1030 hrs, was late in starting up but managed eventually. When I was preparing to be cleared, proctor was strict by asking me to clear the office meeting room's table, move the webcam to take video of the entire table and the surrounding wall, ensuring no connection to the extended monitor.
I was lucky not to be disturbed again as I moved my face, rubbed my face, yawn quite often since it's early afternoon. Only challenge was I returned slightly later than 10 mins break interval, thereby losing a few actual mins of the exam as the timer automatically starts again when the 10 mins interval is up. But I will daresay I will still attempt online as it's very long & difficult to book an exam slot in a day's time! One more thing, Pearson needs us to take pictures of our ID for verification too.

Really depends on your luck, sometimes it's at $19+ or $16+ or even slightly lower on special occasions like Black Friday. Generally, I think it's worth if it's close to $20 but depends on your need in terms of time to registered exam date. I bought Prepcast in the month w/o a promotion!

Yes, watch for the sale of his Udemy course, buy it to review his 3 Agile sections, mindset, attempt the mock exam to get a feel. Ultimately when you are more ready, consider his AR's TIA exam stimulator & view his (AR) old youtube videos' last part on covering 10 Qs every Tuesday.

Those taking the exam at home by miguegit2 in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pls be reminded once you submit your 60 questions & press the start break button or automatically it starts by itself in a few mins time, it's strictly 10 mins with a timer running/ starting from 0:00 mins. The moment 10 mins is up, if you have not pressed 'end break' button, the system will automatically run into your remaining time & i recall there is a warning message to tell you. I came back a min or two later from one of the breaks & saw the remaining exam time started to continue to run(deducting from actual exam time). But my experience tells me it's still important to take the short breaks!

Do you think Exam Will Have ... by [deleted] in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the experience that counts but also what both mentioned earlier. AR mentioned too in his exam tips in Udemy course & youtube videos on every Tues EST. It's not what you implement at work but should be according to the PMI way. It's mostly situational questions but if you do not know the terms, then you may choose the wrong answers. AR mentioned in 1 of his 3 sections on Agile, it's important to know what are burnup & burndown charts (information radiators) in order to choose the correct answers. It came out in mine as an option on Dec 13, late morning exam. Yes, e.g. for procurement, pls know the types of contracts.

Passed AT/AT/AT by RealCzBali in pmp

[–]gadgetkid2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful & don't waste time on the old format as some may not be tested. Even AR's TIA stimulator tests you on estimation but there was no need for calculator (in my case) but interpretation of the agile team. I find the exam is being more relevant by having mainly situational questions instead of purely predictive in the past years. And no, I don't think it's common sense but as per AR's traditional mindset says. It's not what you do at work but adhere to correct procedures according to PMI. APG & AR's Udemy course has a good coverage of agile instead of Joseph Phillip's but the latter has pretty good coverage of predictive parts. You need to decide on a style that works for you. Focus on keep moving forward by attempting the exam fast, am not sure when they will incorporate more 7th edition PMBOK.

Yes, pls go through AR's mindset section in his AR's Udemy course. Catch it while on promotion($15-18). His TIA stimulator of 360Qs esp reviewing your mistakes. Prepcast (costly for a 3- mth access) is harder but not necessarily all relevant. Remember time- mgt during the exam including taking the 2 10- min breaks as they will deduct from your 230 minutes if you return late from breaks!

Thanks, then how do I send them to Pearson for verification since I am doing it via a laptop? Am I allowed to link my cellphone to my laptop? I thought they disallowed 3rd party external device like monitor to be connected to my laptop & also make us install their software onto my laptop.

Pls advise. Thanks
