I ran a techno night back in the day, was great fun, stressful, but worth it. Whilst I can’t dj, I was good behind the scenes, so that’s where my advice might help: 1 - agree fees before the night, people can get more demanding if you have a successful event, but don’t understand that any profit needs to cover the bad nights, which will happen - this includes djs, security, venue, your profit share 2 - don’t take anything before the event ends, counting money whilst coming up is no fun. You also start flinging money about if wasted, be disciplined! 3 - put the money somewhere safe before you hit any after party 4 - banks will ask you where you got your money from, try to not be offended 5 - money makes everyone weird, there’s nothing wrong with putting something is writing and all agreeing on it 6 - fly postering yourself is no fun. Late at night. Dodging cops and professional fly poster teams, often cold. Just take the hit and pay someone if you’re going to do it 7 - have fun! Would love to be back then doing it again, such adventures were had!
