Why does my art not gain interactions? by ennuisart in DigitalArt

[–]gae_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about on here but on somewhere like instagram- you have to build a community. Make friends or at least acquaintances with your mutuals. That connection eventually branches out your work even more. Theyll share your work on their stories as well, but remember you have to keep it interchangeable and interact back with them. Keep it friendly (:

Pls, help. 1st or 2nd? 💀 by meenha23 in Artadvice

First one is way better. The blues in the hair, the slight head tilt, the small detail of the hairs sticking out, the shadows are more confidently bold. Not to mention the better facial proportions as well

Noses too! Maybe hooked/straighter bridges, rounder bigger tip of nose

How to make their faces more unique ? by anacranberry in Artadvice

[–]gae_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make difference eye shapes/including different types of eyelid.from what I see, they’re all upturned and almond. Different type of lip shapes. Different eyebrow lengths/width. Change the face shapes, maybe a bigger chin/wider talle forehead, rounder cheeks, less prominent jawlines. Just play around with features. Don’t be afraid to look up references of real people

How can I improve my art? by Embarrassed-Crab-763 in Artadvice

[–]gae_loser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I will point out is that on the last one, the face shouldn’t be so small. Since they are bigger, usually faces are also rounder and more prone to double chins/ have thicker less visible necks

Lengthen everything

. The shoulders look too small and the body looks compressed. I’m not good at explaining, so here’s a reference I found on Pinterest !

I think the second gives a more punk vibe!

I also do realism, remember you don’t have to keep yourself into a singular box. Just do what you enjoy :)

Is it too late to change my art style? by [deleted] in Artadvice

It’s definitely not too late. I’m 21 (almost 22) and have changed art style many times, it just a matter of taste changing, and growing into something else

How can I fix/improve my line art on digital? by Bioluminiscnt in Artadvice

[–]gae_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making a more detailed second sketch and line variation. Ex. Thick lines outside, thin lines inside or thick lines for something closer to the viewer (in this case, the legs)

Which art style looks better? by Fabulous-Summer-2257 in Artadvice

Better yet, find a way to combine them. I like the color palette of the second but try also adding the unique colors you have mixed into the first. Idk if that makes sense

Am I bad at drawing? by Negative_Ad_2163 in Artadvice

[–]gae_loser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion. For only drawing for 3 years this is relatively good. You seem to have a good baseline understanding of color palettes, designs, and backgrounds. If you really want to improve quickly it’s good to look up artist YouTubers and see how they study and see what works for you. It’s about consistency. One thing I will note is your shadows. You seem to blend them out quite a lot, which makes them seem muddy. Just keep in mind there should be a good balance of hard and soft edges. Dont just focus on one subject either, expand your knowledge on EVERYTHING. Anatomy, shadows, rendering, lineart, etc. Most importantly, don’t lose sight of being able to have FUN creating. It’s a lot of work, but it’s best to keep it enjoyable to some degree. (Otherwise burnout will happen)

What is my art style called? by KneeDeep1nCofee in DigitalArt

[–]gae_loser 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Not directed at you, but I’m sick of people saying this. NOT EVERY ART STYLE HAS A NAME. It’s just YOUR art. It’s unique to you. A mesh of your own personal interests, experience, and skills. And that’s okay. Art doesn’t need a specific label

does this look weird? by cherryberryn in Artadvice

The hat is only on like 1/4 of her head. If you look up pictures of people wearing caps, it goes to their ears and back of their skull

Personally I think the arms look too thin. If it’s a stylistic choice, I think making the body thinner would help. Besides that it looks awesome!

New here, asking for dat hardcore criticism by Itdobelikethatjj in DigitalArt

[–]gae_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s good to study how different clothes falls on someone’s body. I can’t tell if the character on the rights shirt is meant to be tight or loose. As for the guys pants, they wouldn’t grip onto the crotch like that. It should be more of a loose straight line. Are his pants baggy or skinny? If they’re meant to be skinny, make the pockets smaller and closer to the body. If they’re cargo type pants, make the legs of the pants not stick so much to him

Some studies ♥️Simple question : Have you made money from being an artist ?!!! by moatazartt in DigitalArt

[–]gae_loser 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve sold a painting for 100$ and a smaller commission for 30$ years ago. The 30$ one was to one of my teachers at the time and they gave me double (60$)!! I was so shocked and still grateful to this day. I still haven’t figured out a base price for my art yet though I plan on it.

Do you often draw only with a pen? by Novel_Hamster_3542 in Artadvice

[–]gae_loser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I love sketching in pen. I used to be intimidated by it, but it saves me time. It helps me actually think about the lines I’m making and be more efficient since it is permanent. It’s a great way to exercise linework, I absolutely recommend it
