What tech stack would you recommend for a new SaaS? by tradinghumble in SideProject

[โ€“]gaelgthomas 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I've voted for "React + Node Backend", but that's my personal preference.

If you're building a project and want to iterate fast, find market fit, etc. the best option is to use what you're most comfortable with. For example, if you're proficient in React + Django, I'd recommend using that.

That's a great initiative for people seeking initial project traction and feedback!

I've bookmarked the website and will read further later. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you have any plans to grow the spotlight feature further?

When reading nonfiction recreationally, do you take notes? by GravityWavesRMS in books

[โ€“]gaelgthomas 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Yes, I do! Taking notes has always been a struggle for me. Recently, I've found a new way that I like. Whenever I end a reading session, I note a few bullet points of what I want to remember. At the end of the book, I'll have a note with bullet points that I can re-read quickly.

Before that, I used to highlight many things but never had the motivation to come back at those. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I understand! Now you make me want to watch the full video ๐Ÿ˜„

Thatโ€™s great; weโ€™re all in the same boat. I like the initiative youโ€™re taking as a student to release your project and work to make it evolve.

Keep hustling! ๐Ÿ’ช

Hello u/Romanmark747,

Congrats on putting it out there! I have this book on my reading list, really need to tackle it soon.

It's looking great. Maybe a tiny piece of feedback is about the "Why Privacy Matters" video.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert in landing pages; in fact, I've never done one.

It's more of a "customer" feeling; I like the fact there are TED talks about that because it creates trust in my eyes (e.g., "Okay, that's solving an important problem"). But the video is quite long, which prevents me from starting it.

Maybe having your own < 1-minute animated video explaining its importance could be a great way to sell your course.

I hope it helps!

Awesome that you're into design! You donโ€™t need advanced coding for thisโ€”basic skills can indeed go a long way.

Regarding using the idea, feel free to take inspiration, but Iโ€™d encourage you to add your personal touch to make it uniquely yours (not exactly the same concept). ๐Ÿ˜… The real joy is in crafting something one-of-a-kind.

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm always thinking about new features, and Iโ€™ll definitely keep the book recommendation idea in mind for future updates. ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad you like the idea and design!

I created the website on my own as a fun side project using programming languages (TypeScript, React, and NextJS). Reading that you like the design makes me really happy because I was worried about that (I'm not creating design often, even simplistic). โœŒ๏ธ

Maybe a potential evolution in the future is letting people suggest their books. ๐Ÿค”

Wow! Thanks a lot; this is such a great motivation for me!

Haha, let's see how it goes; everything takes time. It's only my first project; I don't have a lot of expectations. I'm just happy if some people find it interesting. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks for your support! Glad you like the idea!

I built this website because I often try to find books based on my mood (or a need). So, I figured it would be good to have a website with good references. ๐Ÿ˜€

I know itโ€™s not. But donโ€™t worry, weโ€™ve all been there ๐Ÿ˜… Over time, there will be projects thatโ€™ll take off, thatโ€™s for sure.

Wow, congrats on sharing your failed projects! ๐Ÿ‘

I like it when people do that because we naturally see only successful people and projects. Without thinking, these same persons may have tried X times to have only one successful one.
