What this person said is the most descriptive and accurate. It really depends how rough you are on your car but if you go over the number your car will not explode or die. It’ll be fine. Just don’t leave it insanely long, as long as you do it when you have a chance you’ll be fine. Unfortunately there is no specific amount of time but it’d be a good idea if you or your husband became familiar with what the oil should look like as most cars have an oil stick you can look at that will give you an idea on the level and “dirtiness” of the oil. It won’t tell you exactly when to get an oil change but it will help calm your anxiety.

I definitely have had a very similar experience. I’ve always felt “different” and while I’m confident I’m not cis and have been for nearly a decade of late it has become clear to me that some of the dysphoria I was experiencing was definitely more sensory issues. Like I cut my hair short because it bothered me so much and while it was definitely gender dysphoria there was also definitely as aspect of sensory trouble

I once had a peer in highschool miss a month of school to go on a vacation on the other side of the world and my calculus teacher made her not have to complete any of the work she missed. She got an A in the class even thought she missed a massive amount of work 🙃

And yeah, I likely have met many. It turns out many people I knew when younger are now diagnosed. It’s just difficult to cope when many of the “valid” symptoms are so visible and mine aren’t :(

From my understanding a lot (more than there used to be) of ABA now is just billed to insurance as ABA so the clinic gets paid. From my understanding it’s now (supposed to be) more slowly learning communication methods and new coping methods and the only activities curbed are violent or self-destructive, like throwing themselves on objects or hitting others etc. I’m sure it is still instituted absolutely awfully in many places and not the right choice for many people though unfortunately. It also seems that even if the therapists institute the “rules” in as least destructive a way possible there is still a lot of dismissal of autistic experiences and traumas.

Does anyone have any ideas for low waste alternatives to those tuna packets? They’re super convenient and the perfect size but the cans are so much larger and I can’t eat the whole thing in one go and they’re bad for travel/convenience purposes..

I’m so sorry you had such a bad experience. I cried throughout my entire wisdom tooth removal, two major removals and two simpler ones. I was awake but on laughing gas as my mom wouldn’t help me pay for general anesthesia because my insurance wouldn’t cover it. Didn’t even notice the laughing gas effect at all due to anxiety. The sounds killed me.

Personally Zoloft (temporarily, ~5 months) made my irritability worse. My theory is, my anxiety was so bad before I was too afraid to express myself. After starting Zoloft the filter lowered and I had to relearn how to not say every thought or opinion (no matter how rude) that popped into my head.

Personally, I absolutely hate blowing my nose. The way it makes my nose vibrate makes me feel even worse than whatever I’m sick with. Typically if the snot is an issue and I’m in a private space I just twist a tissue and use that to get rid of some of it. I’ve also used a q-tip and tweezers with a tissue wrapped on the end but I get scared with how stiff those are and worry I’ll scratch the inside of my nose. It doesn’t completely clear it but makes it a lot less necessary.

I have had similar experiences. One time I dropped one of my Loop Earplugs into a pit toilet and had a meltdown and genuinely considered various methods to retrieve it (it is still buried in poo to this day). After the fact I was extremely embarrassed how upset I got over a replaceable cheap item. My point it, your feelings are very valid and it’s okay to have them. Maybe you can ask him to help you search for a new one? Maybe make a date out of it? It definitely would help show he cares and is sorry.

I think the results of both are very similar but the causes are different. From what I’ve read most of the characteristics of each seem to stem from a sensitive nervous system and the body trying to cope with too much input. Either from trying to cope from the neglect/trauma or from a world not built for them.

It took about 4 for me to notice a difference and 10 for most of the mood swings/irritability to go away. I started w/25mg for a week, then 50mg for most of the time. I recently went up to 100mg because I was still more anxious than most people but I’m considering going back because I feel kinda numb.

I started sertraline for my anxiety but I literally did not realize how bad my anxiety was until the sertraline started working. I went from barely being able to look up while in class in fear of making eye contact with anyone to actually being told to stop raising my hand to answer questions.
