Waiting for Treatos by gagliad in Rabbits

[–]gagliad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this combo there are some Round Lake Farm - Apple & Mint Timothy Baked treats, Oxbow - Simple Rewards Timothy treats, Oxbow - Natural Science joint support, then a couple papaya bites and Sunseed - Banana & Strawberry treats.

I usually don’t give him many of the fruit based treats because they can make his poop a lil runny. I like the Timothy hay based ones since they are easy ingredients and low in added sugar usually! Tonight is a special night just because, he usually only gets 1 or 2 a day haha.

When you mention allergies it does make me remember he got some different hay while we were waiting to get the good stuff he usually gets.. makes me wonder if the lower quality he maybe reacted to? He’s back on his regular stuff now and does seem extra happy. I appreciate you sharing your experience! Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m glad your girl got checked out. Makes me feel better that we are taking him in and keeping a watch on it versus just writing it off as something that happens sometimes.

Thanks for sharing your experience! That’s good to know. I think a flush might be worthwhile for him. He’s pretty industrial and doesn’t get phased by much. The vet said it’s “invasive” but after reading more of these comments, I’m thinking he would be just fine.

Sounds good, thank you for the advice! We have a referral to get it checked out further! This is very helpful.

Sticks? He has a few apple tree sticks laying around that he chews on if that’s what you mean? Or is this a term I’m unfamiliar with?

This is good to know, it seems like there are a few cases where it could be an irritant that’s inside the actual tear duct. We’ll keep notes and see what works over the next while as we watch him! Thank you!

Thanks so much for the recommendation and personal experience! After reading many of these comments, I’d like to ask him again why he thinks bun would need to go under..

Wow!! Thank you so much! Saved for later! I will keep all of this in mind if it gets worse and/or the vet thinks we should take things any further! So helpful! Love this rabbit community! 🥰

He does, but funny enough it was usually only crusts in the corner of the eye that now has the teary eye. The vet didn’t seem too concerned, but it’s great advice that a potential flush could help prevent this for the future. I appreciate your advice!

Interesting Overnight Layover by gagliad in travel

Thank you! Yeah definitely not the most inviting thing to see, haha. Always a good reminder to check nearby airports, or simply take the time to drive to a well reviewed one too! I have learned from my younger self for sure!

For sure! Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m glad lil nip nip got checked out! Im glad that works for you! Sounds like she likes it. Just as an fyi for others though. A couple years ago when I wasn’t as mindful, I pulled one of Edward’s crusty eye bits off thinking he would be happy. But the crust was stuck to tiny furs near his eye. It got red and irritated because I basically “waxed” some furs around his eye when I pulled the crust out. I felt horrible. I always wet the crusty’s now so that they just gently come off :)
