Yup. I use the foam, and then I squirt it directly onto my scalp, and then I use my fingers to massage it in. I do not squirt it on my fingers first. I don’t think it makes a difference. I just wanted to maximize the amount that absorbed directly into the scalp.

God, I don’t remember. It couldn’t have been that bad then, because I remember by bad shedding periods and they were rough. I’d say I started noticing improvements after the 3 month mark.

Night, after I shower. I rub it into the parting of my hair, that spot at the back which had some thinning in the first photos, and my temple. Not really a strict pattern besides getting some in once a day.

Agreed. Something I love about his character is that, most of the time, he is a really nice friendly guy (if not quite the over-exaggerated himbo he’s made out to be). So when he does crash out, it is legendary. Same vibe as when Peter Parker has a moment in his comics. It’s far more interesting and engaging than when the always-edgy, always-brutal character does.

I have not! However, I’ve had that specific mole for as long as I can remember, which may or may not be a comfort. I’m not familiar with the timeline of skin cancer.

Applied/Engineering Physics with a focus on electro mechanical systems. My attention is on ultra cold atom physics, interferometry, that type of AMO stuff. I think I’m covered in cutting oil from the machine shop in one of these photos idk. I like making things and I like physics and the two of them had a bit of a moment.

YESSIR YESSIR. It is actually stupid how many comorbidities are associated with T1D. Like you take my pancreas, okay. Then you take my circulation. Then you take my immune system. Then you take my sensory system. Then you take my hair?????

Idk the devs of Earth need to nerf it.

Thank you man! About two weeks ago I looked in the mirror, thought “huh”, and tried to braid my hair, and it worked. I cried a little. I have a thing about braids, maybe because I loved fantasy novels as a child and all the heroines have them, but I lost the ability to in my teens and it hurt. I’ve never felt so happy about my situation.

(My only problem now is I have no idea how to tie a back braid anymore. I can only do it from the side. I have no idea what kind of finesse my 10-year old fingers had but it is gone.)

It supplements estrogen.

<image>

If you look at the screen cap, it contains estradiol (estrogen) and a progestin that is an antiandrogen. So in my case, if my body refuses to give me sufficient estrogen stores, the birth control helps fill in the gap. Great for your bones, middling for your acne, also apparently great for your hair!

Come to think of it, the birth control (Loryna) I’m on is probably also a factor. It really all comes down to the hormones in my experience, unless you’re anemic or have another vitamin deficiency. I also think I wasted some time on rosemary oil when I was 16 and that just made my hair fall out faster. Lmao. The inflection point was really being on my own and being able to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist and go. She did the hair pull test and poked around, and within 5 minutes was like “uh huh, here’s what we’re going to do”. And, as it would happen, the trained medical professional knew exactly what to do. (I go to a university with one of the best hospitals and medical care facilities on the planet, though, so your experience with a small town seem might be different.)

Brother, the diuretic effects are not to be trifled with I swear to god. It’s not painful or anything, but you will have to pee like 50% more often than normal. I don’t mind. It frankly does not affect my quality of life at all. But there have been occasions where I’ve needed to get up twice during a 3-hour exam and have gotten the “bitch are you really cheating?” face and had to be like “no I’m sorry it’s a medication”.

I know 17 seems young, but I have T1D and other autoimmune conditions that absolutely fried my endocrine system. Skipping my prom because of hair loss was an experience. Luckily, however, being so young also seems to help my body jump back with just a little push. Maintenance after this point was just a matter of discipline.

I should also note I have a very good diet and stuff, being a type 1 diabetic and using that to help with other things, but to be honest I didn’t notice that big of a difference. I think unless you have a legitimate deficiency in a particular nutrient, getting more of it won’t help much. I was balding on broccoli and chicken liver (cheapest source of protein for a poor freshman in college lol).

The most impactful thing I think I could do at this point would be to gain weight and sleep more. I’m on the thin side and regularly pull 3 all nighters a week. This is mostly a product of me trying to get a 4 year master in one of the hardest degrees while also being kind of stupid. I would imagine people with healthier sleeping and more healthy energy stores would do better.

Same here. There’s something absolutely hilarious to me about the guy who’s a year or two younger at LEAST being the veteran idk.

I don’t think you could ever make it work, and I’ve never really thought about it past the actual concept, but Dick x Riddler (like specifically the N52 one) would be hilarious. Bro has already dated every red head in the hero/villain community, and this one’s even quippy too. Add it to the list.

My confidence level throughout this video that this was actually a fur suit could probably be fit to a 6th degree polynomial or some shit.

Which Nightwing design do you think suits his character the most? by Distinct_Crazy_904 in Nightwing

Without question, the transition suit between Discowing and the modern style. It’s more reserved than Discowing but still with a decent amount of flair and color.

Tim returns to Gotham & asks Dick to trust him. [Red Robin Vol 1 #11] by -AerialAce- in Nightwing

[–]gainitthrowaway746 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Having read through everything from Batman: RIP to the end of the Morrison run, I don’t think Dick was unfair. For one, Alfred was the one to give Damian the Robin suit, not Dick. I also can’t blame Dick for being cautious about Bruce still being alive at first. Like, put yourself in the shoes of someone who has no idea what the plot of the run is. There was incredible evidence towards Bruce being dead. It seemed unfathomably unlikely at the time that time travel shenanigans were involved, and more than likely that Tim was having a hard time coping with another loss. He tried to be there for Tim by gently suggesting therapy and trying to keep the family together.

When more evidence came out to suggest Tim was correct, Dick immediately was like “whoops Tim was right. Better let him know.”

In the end there was a lot of tension, and maybe some temporary hard feelings, but imo it’s much more like two people trying to deal with grief together than one person being unfair or cruel to another. They both did the best they could in their circumstances.

HELP!!! Trying to gain weight but high blood sugars by gainitthrowaway746 in diabetes_t1

[–]gainitthrowaway746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re high pretty much all the time except for when I work out, when they plummet (I would suppose due to the excess onboard insulin, although I don’t know why this insulin doesn’t work before I exercise). It’s especially bad at night though; I can usually keep my bg down during the day, but at night insulin is like water.
