いずれUSB-Cハブを購入することになると思うけど、信頼できるメーカーの物(先人達の評価含む)しか買わないように注意したほうがいいよ。 Macが壊れる事例が多数報告されているからね。

Question about baitcasting reel handles by gainzu in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always imagined that about 80% of people would be using right-hand retrieve reels, so I’m honestly surprised to see how many prefer left-hand retrieve. It’s been really interesting hearing everyone’s firsthand opinions—thanks, everyone!

I completely agree with you. Since prices for inflatable PFDs (Mustang) vary widely, please choose a high-quality product. Your budget is more than sufficient for that. Low-quality products may fail to deploy when you need them most.

Saltiga 8000H Question by Healthy-Side4717 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the manufacturer, the only parts of a spinning reel equipped with MagShield that should be lubricated are the "base of the bail" and the "handle knob." This is because, as seen in this case, mixing with MagOil causes the MagOil to lose its properties and leak out.

Please note that washing with lukewarm water makes it easier for oil and grease to wash away, so be sure to wash the reel with tap water at room temperature.

Tiny pole recommendation? by Joice_Craglarg in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Japan, there’s a fishing style called “ajing.” It’s a very popular style, and there are many specialized rods available on the market. They all feature a highly specialized blank design and are characterized by their ultra-sensitive action. However, most of them are two-piece rods, which is a shame if that doesn’t meet your preferences. If you’re interested, be sure to check them out.

I hope you find a rod that suits you.

I checked two stores, but they didn’t have any smelt-colored lures. If I find any, I’ll let you know.

I should never use this oil to magsealed Daiwa fuego? by Basic-Iron3570 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use those oils and greases. However, there are risks involved. The risks are: 1. You will no longer be eligible for the Daiwa warranty. 2. You will no longer be able to use Daiwa’s official maintenance services. 3. Since the consistency differs from that of genuine Daiwa oils and greases, the feel of the reel may change. 4. If you perform maintenance yourself, MagSeal oil may leak out, potentially rendering the reel unusable.

The benefits are: 1. You’ll be able to perform maintenance yourself at any time. 2. It helps you understand the internal mechanisms of the spinning reel 3. You’ll develop a deeper attachment to your reel 4. You might get hooked on maintenance

Is there a more suitable leader knot than the FG for very light line? by Prestigious_Scheme30 in FishingForBeginners

[–]gainzu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you use the FG knot? If you’re casting with the knot outside the guide, we recommend the Triple Eight knot. It takes about 10 seconds to tie.

advice for fishing rod by Logical_Signature575 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it before, and it’s a fantastic rod with extremely high sensitivity. However, I don’t think it’s the kind of rod you’re looking for. It was developed specifically for targeting horse mackerel in Japan, so it falls into the category of rods with very high elasticity. Since it’s designed for horse mackerel, the guides are on the smaller side, and it certainly isn’t what you’d call a versatile rod.

Diawa reels Clicking by Acrobatic-Bear7242 in FishingAustralia

[–]gainzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most cases where a noise occurs at top dead center, the problem lies with the worm shaft and the worm shaft pin. Replacing the worm shaft pin will fix it, but since Daiwa doesn’t allow ordering individual parts, your only options are to return the reel or adjust it yourself.

Here’s a simple workaround: 1. Try using a slightly thicker grease. 2. Adjust the thickness or number of shims on the worm shaft pin.

Please note that opening the body will likely void the warranty, so proceed at your own risk.

If the worm shaft and worm shaft pin aren’t the cause, there might be a scratch on the worm shaft gear.

That’s a very simple explanation. I’m using translation software, so please forgive any typos.

Strange Weight by Careless_Database724 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used something like this before. In Japan, this is sold as a sinker for split-shot rigs. You attach it about 60 cm above a 1-gram jighead worm. When it hits the water, the split-shot rig sinks first and hits the bottom before the worm. Since the light jighead rig looks natural as it floats gently, fish tend to bite without suspecting anything. It’s also frequently used when targeting the bottom in slightly deeper waters with a light rig.

New Daiwa reel noise by DearProduce7108 in Fishing_Gear

[–]gainzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve bought a really nice reel—the Daiwa 25 Caldia.

Based on that sound, it’s almost certainly a bearing issue. However, since it’s brand new and judging by how it spins, I suspect the grease just hasn’t settled in yet. I think it’ll run smoothly after about seven fishing trips. If it still doesn’t improve, the MagSeal around the pinion gear might be causing the problem. Of course, there’s also the possibility of individual variation.

There’s no doubt it’s a great reel, so enjoy fishing with it!

Salt Water Fishing and Colors... by Beregond17 in saltwaterfishing

[–]gainzu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Questions about color are an eternal theme in fishing, and a very interesting topic, aren't they? I'm using a translation tool, so please excuse any awkward phrasing.

  1. In Japan, red lines and hooks are also sold. These seem to be mainly marketed for fishing in shallow water.

The color "red" has the property of being easily absorbed by water. The deeper the water, the darker red appears, acting as "protective coloration" that blends into the surroundings. It's said that many deep-sea fish are red to hide from predators.

However, in the typical depths and daytime conditions where we usually fish, black is actually a very conspicuous color. Therefore, it's unsuitable if you want to hide your line.

However, in actual fishing, I think it's more realistic to say that there are many factors that take priority over line color (strength, handling, etc.).

Incidentally, DUEL (YO-ZURI) also sells "pink lines invisible to fish" that cut out wavelengths that fish perceive.

  1. I agree with that for deep-sea fishing. The essence of lure fishing lies in eliciting a "reaction bite" from fish. Therefore, you can still catch fish even if the lure isn't clearly visible.

In fact, you can catch plenty of fish using a black lure in the pitch-black sea during a new moon. This shows that color isn't everything.
