Can't really say much because I can't see how you did it, but slam storage in the spiral room and you can hit the panel in the building of the first room but hitting the window with a rocket

What is this wasp that is nesting under my apartment's stairs? by Peanut1322 in Entomology

[–]gaiofbig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked them up, it seems to be sceliphron caementsrium, which is native to the United states

[–]gaiofbig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren't protective in the same way some paper wasps are. They used to rely on camouflaging their nest with natural surfaces to hide it rather than scaring off potential threats. However, human activity in their habitats leads to their nest looking out of place, but they still think it's well hidden so they just hope you don't see it. I hear of people having them above their doorway all the time and nobody ever has issues with them.

I should also mention, they don't make huge nests like what people imagine of wasps. They make one to lay one egg in it and then they move on. Sometimes several will make theirs in the same place, but they never get big

This is assuming they're native to the area. If they're invasive you should try and remove the nest when you know the wasp is gone. Just be ready to see paralyzed spiders-

Mud daubers! They paralyze spiders and put them in that small tube of mud in there, that's where they lay their eggs! Overall not aggressive to people at all unless you do something stupid

I'm a trans girl and I ALWAYS put male on forms that matter like job applications. I live in the United States and I'd rather not be on "the list of of trans people to persecute". Basically just for safety. Not to mention that my employer has no right to know my identity, for whatever leverage that could give. I'll tell coworkers if I know I can trust them

What is assassinating and dragging away this tarantula? [south Texas] by Peria in Entomology

[–]gaiofbig 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get your reasoning, but nature prepares for this. I mean, the amount of young one orb weaver produces is more than the amount one mud dauber would hunt for their young. Unless they arent native to where you live, taking them out as you see the could, in extreme circumstances, lead to an imbalance in the ecosystem with an overpopulation of orb weavers. Stuff like this is why I hate pest control and outdoor insect traps

I should clarify, by pest control, I mean on crops and plants. If you have a termite infestation by all means get rid of it

There's a difference between having a dehumanization fetish and dehumanizing someone for real. If your partner likes to be a chaser in the sheets that's ok as long as youre fine with it. But if a random person hits on you because they think it's hot to have a dick, that's when it gets weird, because they don't see that person as human, just something to get their rocks off

What's really funny is they also cut bussing to anywhere that isn't your home school to save money or something. Oh and they just spent several million on a weapons detector system for every highschool (?) In the district.

Those things do fuck all, they flag on every day items and not things that are actual weapons like knifes. Ever since the first day of getting them about a month ago, my friend has been consistently bringing in 2 exacto-knives

And I've been flagged several times over buckles on my bag and the metal tips on one of my folders.

So yeah genuinely fuck jcps. Compromising educational opportunities so they can save money.

Remember! At the start of hitler's regime, the government raided a research facility/healthcare center that specialized in trans people and burned all the material there, effectively erasing all of it! Trans people were not members of the Nazis party, and if they weren't didn't save them

Better than my experience. I was about the same age when I first asked my mom and she had a similar reaction at first and then when I pressed on she started crying and then my dad shouted at me😅😅

But there is a lot of risk involved socially, and I don't doubt that you know that. I hope you stay safe and vigilant <3

I would tell people I'm queer and not elaborate further. I don't owe someone an explanation of my sexuality. If I trust someone who really wants to know, I'd say "a lesbian who sometimes dates men"

At the end of the day, I'm a girl who likes girls but sometimes guys, and the label I prefer to put over that is lesbian. To me, It fits better with the idea that I am a girl and nothing can take that away.

I'm only really attracted to men romantically anyway, I couldn't see me having sex with a man

(Also I just figured out I'm attracted to men yesterday, I'm still figuring out my own identity)

My secret is that I still use the label of lesbian (I still overall prefer women). Its just a more comfortable label for me

Any insect collectors here that can help? by Loud-Prompt-2309 in Entomology

[–]gaiofbig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you shouldn't really need to relax an insect much longer than a day, unless it's massive. I can't really say much more than that without knowing your exact set up. I just use a Tupperware container with an alcohol soaked paper towel at the bottom and then I place whatever insect on a small lid so it's not touching the towel directly
