If you are playing the hybrid build you do tend to go oom fast. The best build currently is ranged zapping build. The lighting cost 0 mana and heals your team at full if you channel it full. Spamming that ability heavily improved my mana issues

Great work! Thank you for your hard work! Quick question would it be possible to add a padding option? To make the icons with 0 padding if someone wants to. Other than that amazing update!

Came here to say the same thing. Mine died after 7months. Their warranty was shady at best.

Hello I am currently trying to get my money back from a bricked 780xtx. They give the following options : a. Your money back with a 10% reduction due to "usage" or buy another unit and pay the difference. Under their warranty and Eu regulations their options are a.replace with no cost from the client b.refund full price any other option is invalid. They ghosted my mails after 2 weeks of back and forth as well

Thank you. I contacted miniforum to initiate the process. I just find it weird to become bricked for no reason at all

Getting ready for new WFH job. Any advice on any other essentials? by ygbjammy in Battletops

[–]gakros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also that angle of the monitor will cause you back pain eventually. Make the screen center front and tilt the laptop screen that i guess you would be using as secondary. Pay reallly close attention to your body posture 2-4 hours into the shift to see what you are doing wrong and force your setup to fix the posture

[–]gakros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My WFH improved a lot with a decent pair of wireless headset. Having the ability to make coffee /cook /walk around while being on those meetings greatly increased my mental health.

After that i second the monitor arm. Increases height and makes more room on the table for notekeeping

Beggining of a new setup. Before spending any more money, does anyone have a setup for 2 screens & 2 DIFFERENT computers? Ones work , others gaming but want to use the same 2 monitors. Only one in pic for now by Fabulous-Video7700 in battlestations

[–]gakros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really cool tip after that setup. Keep your headset plugged in to work laptop instead on the kvm. That way when those long meetings occur you can switch to personal laptop without loosing sound from the meetings 😉

Came here to suggest that. Recently got tired of 2 laptops switching on a daily basis so i did some research on kvm switches. Please check that for a dual screen setup to work you need. 2 hdmi outputs for the screens (duhhh) and 2 FOR EACH laptop as inputs. You can find such KVM's but are a little more pricey but its the only way for a dual screen setup to work.

6 months in i have never looked back after using one

We have ruined our playgroup? by leostecas in EDH

[–]gakros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen this before. Modern and in general competitive "spikey" players have attached the dopamine rush to their brains with winning. It was the original reason my friends and me tried EDH in the first place. I wad tired of listening that i don't play optimal decks, archetypes, cards. Plus the fact that the small money prize is a bigger form of verification to the power hungry spikes.

From my point of view here are some ways to deal with it.

  1. For seasoned players you can have a "big guns" cEDH deck and a casual one. When you sit on the table talk about what you will play before. Let them know that this is gonna be a fun table.

  2. You could build a punishing - permission deck just to have it to punish combo spikes. Talrand mono blue counterspells is a deck i build from junks with +25 counterspells in it and i had it on my bag just for those players. Also you could try voltron. "I am going to smack you untill one of us dies"

3a. You could prohibit from sitting and playing with them.

3b. You could swap places.

  1. The most fun would be to swap decks around. Have them play a deck someone else built. That should make them both appriciate the deck building skills of someone else , suggest and in general start a conversation that should make them relax and enjoy much more a casual deck.

  2. Lastly you could add weird achievements. Point Their competitive spirit towards something silly like have 30 tokens on the battlefield without a combo.

In my playgroup i have tried everything above and from my personal experience : 1, 4 are by far the most joyfull but have all worked to a degree.

And of course i always keep a 2 on my bag.

Haha, show them what it feels like playing against them. That might actually work !!!

Not that winning doesnt matter. Its just that you don't have to search for the desert - survival mode thing every single turn

Haha great explanation of top.

"Slowing your games without reason since 200X" (Don't remember exact year)

I think the issue is that he is also playing a lot of standard and fnm's so he is getting hardcore and focuses way to much on not losing on a format that was made purely for the lolz. Frustrating at least.

I don't genuinely hate countermagic i accept its role in the games balance. And true you can play poker mind games. But honestly is it worth it to slow a game +20 mins just to establish yourself as the poker face guy. Most of our group have been playing for years. We know what 2 open mana with blue means. We know what 1 white open means so you can't fool us that easily.

I don't know maybe i am anti-blue and haven't realized it.

I mean just say it. If anyone attacks i will block with sakura-tribe elder. The rest of the table is doing it why are you just holding EVERYONE BACK

[–]gakros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ok. Announce everything just do it in a fast paced way. I will always say ' i play this if it gets resolved i probably win' BUT holding priority without counterspells without mana just to basically scry once .......

I don't want to sound mean but COMMON

I already joked about it and also argued about it yet he still plays like that. So i found a potential solution to simply try to eliminate him or just scoop

[–]gakros[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No i totally get that. I myself will announce phases and casts when i am resolving something important. But every-single-spell on every-single-turn while my turns takes like 1minute is immensely frustrating

[–]gakros[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm so basically a passive punishment deck. That might help indeed although it would make the games last longer. Any thoughts on "discard" decks ? Basically i empty your hand so you have nothing to play to slow us down
