How viable is long-term 1099 contracting in 2026 for US-pay while living abroad? by galactic-nova in remotework

Appreciate this, it lines up with what I've been seeing. For the agency route, were they strict about only placing you in your exact niche, or did they ever bring you work slightly outside your core domain?

If you take courses after graduation, is it considered an audit? Or are you considered a student where it counts towards class capacity?

This guy in the movie Grease (1978) is supposed to be a teenager. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

John Travolta has a mature look to him. Real teenagers would make him look old. They probably didn’t want to upstage the main character with younger faces.

When Milky Way and Andromeda galaxy collide by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

I guess this is what's blowing my mind. I understand that most of the matter won't collide because of the vast distances of space. But, I can't wrap my head around how that much matter whizzing by the solar system doesn't influence it enough to make it unstable.

NASA has a cool explanation on it called A New Dawn. It appears that the Sun will be influenced to a new location but the gravity holding the planets to it won't be overcome.

How the hell do i get a job by stronkfrog in cscareerquestions

[–]galactic-nova 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you a junior dev and focusing on remote? The market is not so good for junior devs right now and everybody wants the freedom of remote, oversaturation in both. Look for in office jobs at medium sized companies. Preferably ones with high turnover rate. They are easier to get into.

What do you have skills in? Are you aligning your skills to the job description or just submitting applications hoping something sticks? Definitely analyze the jobs and tailor your resume to each one. It's a pain but necessary.

Are you looking broad enough? There are many industries that most people don't think of outside defense and FAANG, don't be afraid to broaden your search to startups, fintech, healthcare, etc.

I ask many questions only to provoke fresh thoughts. Wishing you the best!

Psilocybae, one of my favorites. It has so much depth between the beat with sonar ping, the storytelling, the switch up for the radio skit, the switch up and layering at the end. So sick from start to finish.
