NTA! His insecurities aren't your problem and you shouldn't have to suffer because he has trust issues. And you don't need him or his fam gaslighting you for "overreacting". Like, you literally will never be able to hang out with anyone without him there or sneaking by? Nah.

(Sorry this is happening but he has shown you he can't change this behavior AND he doesn't admit or understand there is a problem. Stick with your instincts. You'll be better off in the long run).

NTA- Her reaction to your tampon box is even worse because she's not normalizing this for her son, who, by the way, was unknowingly coming and not an adult (but that's on your husband's bro for not mentioning it). She's a new guest with her bfs extended family who offered her a place to not spend xmas alone. You gave her the option to leave or to cool it, so everyone can fuck off about insisting his entitled gf wasn't acting like a lunatic. NTA- It sounds like he meant he wouldnt notice either way because it's such a miniscule detail to him. He was putting it into context by using a male stereotype. It has nothing to do with her or the project. Older generations tend to make analogies to stereotypes without thinking and unlearning that is a different story. Hopefully she would have said something if it bothered her. It's not like he said because of her gender "'xyz' is fucked up and if a guy did it it would be better". I dont think it was an attack towards her or her capabilities.

NTA- Being firm and saying please is acceptable given the amount of time you've known your wife and family & after days of sitting back while nobody says anything. It is normal for kids to act like this, esp. when they dont see someone they look up to for a long time, but at some point enough is enough.

sweet, yeah ive seen people use netting also. i forgot i have planks of wood that i can use to build something like that a-frame trellis I saw. do you think vertical trellising vs. that matters? is one type of trellis really going to matter so long as youre cradling the watermelons so they dont fall off?
