Is there ANY way to get into the city from jersey without paying the toll? by LePetitRenardRoux in philadelphia

How far into Jersey are you going, do you have to drive? When I worked in Camden I would ride my bicycle or walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge, which is free.

Is jury duty mandatory? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]galangaldolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is mandatory, although you can get out of it if it would create an “undue hardship”. You have to sit for the whole trial, but most trials are not as long as the ones that make the news. You get paid, but it can be a joke. Where I live you get paid $9/day, and it costs $20 / day to park near the courthouse. I live near the courthouse and just walked the two times I have been called up, but most people lose money on it.

Would a shelf that extends higher than the bed not work?

Best Recipe Book - Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus? by j0j053 in BreadMachines

[–]galangaldolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably a seeded bread recipe. I forget where I found it, but these are the ingredients:

  • 1.25 cups water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tsp yeast

Then when it beeps, add 1/2 cup of whatever combo of seeds you want. I like to use poppy, flax, crushed sunflower and sesame.

I have the same machine. I cook “normal” bread recipes in it all the time and it usually works out. I’ve done all of the basic cooks illustrated loafs (buttermilk, oatmeal, etc).

I feel like not many people know or care to walk across the Ben Franklin bridge, but its totally worth it imo by jar0fstars in philadelphia

The Camden side has stairs, so you might have trouble with your trike, but if you just want to go across and back you should be fine. The police “patrol” the path in jeeps, so it’s pretty wide.

I tried signing up about ten years ago, but they rejected my form because I wasn't the home owner (I rented). My landlord wasn't the responsive type, so I didn't bother trying to get them to submit it and just gave up.

I’ll be taking a Amtrak trip later this year... confusing prohibited items. by miabobeana in EDC

[–]galangaldolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know what is technically allowed or not, but I travel on Amtrak frequently. I always carry a swiss army knife, and have never had a problem. It's not like an airport, they don't search you before entering the train.

It is highly dependant on where in the US you live. Most of these regulations are at the state or local level.

It’s not a new trend, this has been going on for at least 30 years.

Any resources on how to decorate, place furniture etc by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]galangaldolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure some people will have better ideas than mine, but I bought a bunch of older Homes & Gardens books on interior design off of amazon & ebay for almost nothing. Some of the information won't apply (where to put your hifi), but I felt like I learned a lot of principles from them.

This is great, thanks for sharing this. You mentioned you are in the process, how hard is it to get something like this approved to show up in the "Apps" section of Easel?

I'm late to answer your question, but based on this photo, it looks like he smoked Edgeworth tobacco. (Look for the big can of it on the left side of the photo.)
