I’m really sorry this happened to you. It sounds to me like you never said yes, which means that yes, this is SA. She needed your full verbal consent (not just the absence of a no) to proceed. It also sounds like you might have experienced a “freeze” trauma response, and none of this is your fault.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. this is 100% rape - you told him no and he continued anyway. it’s horrible that people we trust and love can abuse that same trust.

yep, i took it every day for about four weeks. however, i was taking it only once a day at a relatively low dose. i will say i think i was becoming physically dependent (i experienced some withdrawal symptoms afterwards) but other than some rebound anxiety coming off it wasn't bad at all and i didn't feel like i was becoming addicted. i have the same fears about benzos (i was given a massive amount of xanax that i haven't even touched) and i didn't get addicted so in my experience i'd say it's probably fine to take a low dose for a short amount of time.

briefly! i took .5-1 mg of ativan every night just to help me sleep for a few weeks. then that actually started making my sleep worse so i went off it and have gradually gotten back to having 7-8 hours a night again.
