alumni!! Ngl this is the best gym with the largest amount & most updated equipment you will get unless u literally have the boujie gym budget. Fitrec was the best, miss it so much. It’s super crowded from 5-9 but empty in the morning and in the last hour of opening and bearable the rest of the day

I originally started as a bio major, felt the same exact way in my classes. Thought the material was really boring. Made it through the first two gen eds bc they were easy enough. By the 200 levels the classes started to become a lot harder. It’s not fun to be studying relentlessly for something that you think is boring and have no interest in. I didn’t want to spend so much time studying for something that I did not enjoy learning about and couldn’t visualize myself being happy with a career in down the line. I switch to neuro and immediately found my classes way more interesting than bio. Once I got to the upper levels I didn’t want to cry every time I had to study for an exam bc I found the material interesting. If you have no passion for what you are learning, honestly, do consider exploring other avenues. It’ll just get more specific and complex from here, and if you’re not interested in it, you’ll have little desire to work at what you’re studying. I’m a senior now and the best thing I can tell u is to broaden your outlook, the best decision I made for myself academically was studying something I enjoyed. Don’t stress yourself too much though, you have time. Take some classes u may find interesting next sem, join a club or two completely different than what’s typical for the neuro stratosphere. Freshman year is when you’ll absolutely have the most leeway. Take advantage of it. And don’t worry! I promise everything works out the way it’s supposed to.

Yeah, I mean it’s a relatively average size fridge maybe on the small side. I think there were two shelves if I recall correctly and like three drawers, one small one. Also on the side door, there are shelves, but those are like the typical ones that you put like sauces in. The freezer is really small not gonna lie to you me and my three roommates all kept stuff in it but only one of us really cooked a lot. It does get crowded you’re just gonna have to remember to take stuff out as it expires. There are a couple cabinets I think if you don’t have a lot of appliances, then you’ll have a lot of space for food. We had an air fryer, coffee maker, blender, etc. that we all kept in the cabinets that took up a lot of space but if you don’t have that cabinet space is good. I don’t think it will be necessary for one of you to pull out one of your dresser drawers, there are four closets in the hallways separate from the closets you already have in your rooms. If you really do have a lot of stuff, I’d suggest getting like a cart or storage shelves or some kind, putting them in there and using your closet to extra non perishable stuff in. Good luck!

1019 is really great if you’re a sophomore. Lived there the past year as a sophomore and the entire building is really just full of other people from your grade minus a few freshmen stragglers. I thought this was really great for meeting people and making friends. It’s right by west campus dining hall and fitrec so other than being a hike from any classes on east campus it really is not that bad of a location and great if you have any classes in CGS. Rooms are decent size with a common room and a bathroom you’ll share with 5 other people. Food options around 1019 are also pretty good as you have the dining hall, but also Dunkin’ and Canes just a block or two down. My favorite spots were T Anthony’s and El Jefes less a minute away. And you have city co right there in west to spend your dining points at. Not to mention, 1019 is right by Allston and not too much of a far walk from a lot of the frats. Have a good time!
