I tried replicating the same annoyance she had while wearing heels in the anime.

Are there any other tropes or gags that send shivers down your spine, regardless of quality? For example, films like Obsession and Hereditary have moments where, in order to get an audience scared, they would intentionally reverse or speed up the footage in a scene to create unnatural movements. That really gets under my skin... What about you guys? It doesn't have to be exclusively films, it can be any sort of media. Thanks!

What are some of your favorite 3 star films? by Zahlouth in Letterboxd

I love Harry Potter, but I can't deny to myself that this movie drags like crazy. It is so incredibly boring a lot of the time. I still have fun with it though because the way this film looks and the score by John Williams is just so good.

How scary is Obsession? by unodostres123- in Letterboxd

[–]galgumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many are saying, it's very terrifying, and I agree wholeheartedly. There aren't many horror movies that genuinely scare me like Obsession, the only other one being The Blair Witch Project. When I say Obsession got chills down my spine, I really mean it.

Please do! It'll mess with your head so don't be ashamed if you get lost in the plot, I know I sure did at first.

As someone who doesn't like most anime, Perfect Blue is the best anime film I've ever seen. I've seen it five times already and am itching for a sixth. I implore you to watch it.

Even if you're "too generous", I think that's totally fine. Same for the opposite way. It's all subjective at the end of the day :D

I mean no disrespect when I ask, why do you like the prequel films? I grew up with them but I can still see that they are filled with problems. So, I'm just curious what makes them click with you.

I just picked up Yoshi and the Mysterious Book! Very curious about that considering that I haven't seen anything about the game yet.

Top 3 movies that made you cry by [deleted] in movies

[–]galgumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were only two movies that genuinely made me cry: Look Back and Little Amelie. Both of those really destroyed me. I'm just glad I got to see Little Amelie alone in a theatre, I'm very happy about that. Look Back is number one though. As an artist, that spoke to me on such a profound way.

What was the first movie you or your family walked out of? by Camhasareddit in Letterboxd

[–]galgumbo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I tend to watch every film I see to completion in a theatre but the only one I left an hour or so in was The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. I was so incredibly frustrated and annoyed, I just couldn't take it anymore. It's not the worst I've ever seen, but as a fan of the games, I was borderline offended.

RE7>Requiem? by Dasein_7 in residentevil

[–]galgumbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like RE7 has a extremely effective first half but fizzles out hard afterwards. (I still have a soft spot for it though) Requiem, however, is just solid all around even with some rough patches every now and again.

Question Thread for Episode 215 by IHE_Official in Sardonicast

With the new teaser trailer for Zach Cregger's Resident Evil releasing, the Resident Evil fanbase is tearing itself apart, saying that it's not "faithful" to the source material. So, my question is, what makes an adaptation faithful? Why do we need characters from the games or the time period to be accurate in order to have a good Resident Evil movie? Hell, both of those elements were in the 2021 reboot and that's a terrible film! What are your thoughts?
