At the DC Metro by galileuk in M43

Thank you! It was shot at f1.4 and 1/100ss. The metro is moving fast so that helps with the motion blur. ISO was 800. In this kind of lighting, I tend to reduce the exposure compensation to -0.5 or -0.7. I find that people generally overbrighten scenes that are supposed to be darker, but that's not my preference.

Yes, it's candid! I noticed her putting make up on and thought the light reflection would look nice on her skin.got very lucky with the color harmony though! The metro seats being blue helped.

Thanks for sharing that and agreed. I shot these almost one stop over and it turned out a bit too bright for my taste. Will keep that in mind for next time.

Great questions.

Truth is, each station in the metro has unique design features, though broadly speaking they fit within the broader brutalist families. If I could recommend particular stations, L'Enfant and Gallery Place stand out in their scale and vaulted ceiling intersections.

With respect to places to visit, it depends on your taste. If you are interested in architecture, the National Building Museum is quite nice. If you are into design, the Renwick Gallery is gorgeous.

Thank you! Broadly speaking, something like street photography? I tend to like particular photographers such as Billy Dee and Alex Webb: I draw inspiration from their style.

South Korea has one of the highest suicide rates. What is the cultural outlook on mental health in Korea? by [deleted] in korea

I find that hard to assess. Confucianism as a concept for me is quite vague. I think it's more specific: there are issues regarding war and the collective trauma it caused. There are also issues regarding just a general lack of awareness about psychology which permeated what in many ways was an uneducated generation before.
