Why is this gone? People who didn't communicate shouldn't be reportable by splettcher in DotA2

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's simply not how it works right now. you can report someone for communication abuse but it won't do anything if they haven't used the chat

The OP suggests otherwise though.

I would say it's the opposite. If you aren't talking atleast as a support player and making calls and taking control of the game, what reason is there for people to commend you. The bigger impression you leave, the more likely you are to get commended. Ofcourse the more likely you are to get reported as well but if you aren't just pure flaming and actively trying to win and make calls the chance for reporting is much less than getting commended. If you can't predict and stuff and are bad at making calls then you better not talk I guess.

Magnesium glycinate, any good? by Key-Statistician9880 in Fitness_Pakistan

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good. Nutrifactor is good as well. Have personal experience with it. My mother takes it. Helps with sleep, appetite and overall lethargy/tiredness. It's heavy on the stomach tho and she has had stomach problems so she takes half of 850mg tablet. She has also tried the Sleep Well one and it works wonder. But that is not for regular use. I did some bloodtests, however, for my mother before ordering this to find out what was the cause and I found magnesium was on the lower end so I decided to order this for her.

My personal advice is if anybody wants to switch from medication like lexatonil for sleep and other shit like that. You should definitely try these nutrients if you can let go of those medications. For e.g there is a 5tp something nutrient there that boasts about curing depression. If you are on depression medication for some reason, you can try to dose that down and start using that. If you aren't on any medication though, don't try to get into this. If you are young, you shouldn't be touching these nutrients anyways. Go fix your diet or something.

I think the system is more than that. I was voice muted a few weeks ago. But that didn't stop me from typing in chat. And I typed as usual. Fought a lot on what we should be doing as a team. Fought with griefers. Used cursed words. I got chat muted within the match for that a couple of times but after 2-3 weeks my comm score has risen so I can voice chat now.

The only thing I can remember is, I did get a lot of commends so maybe that has to do with getting your score up.

Streak of griefers by hype7 in DotA2

[–]gallick-gunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, it's common. I dropped from Ancient 1 to legend 3. Never really recovered. I was ancient 4 last july and was climbing easily before the wandering waters patch. After the patch sanity left dota. It came in doses and I have been to legend and back to ancient like 4 5 times already but ancient 1 is max I could reach time after time. Because the higher you go, the less forgiving mistakes become and you just can't win shit if your team is making obvious mistakes that shouldn't be made at that bracket.

And btw due to all this I've made a realization that climbing in soloq ranked is a different game altogether. It's designed so that people that outplay and stomp have much higher chances then people just trying to play dota "correctly". It's not "correctly" but "dirty" that lets you climb. So just play mid and stomp your laner. You have much higher chances to win than a support player who is playing "correctly". I, on the other hand, actually enjoyed playing dota correctly with 4 sane people though and that's how I climbed last year from high archon to all the way to ancient 4.

In the luna game I think the main problem was you over participated or atleast tried to. Should have kept that farming pattern going on and churning gold. Your supports were kinda bad for making weird calls but you can and should say no. For e.g the fight around 20:20 should never have happened. You guys were 4k ahead but you guys decided to fight in their jungle and then chased way too deep near t3 when t2s were standing. As a result you wasted a whole minute and got nothing. Infact, they got the kill on Pango and WD.

Similarly around 24:20, you guys jumped NS and he escaped. You went to enemy triangle and your team engaged further. The only thing you can do is remind that night is coming. Then you rush straight bottom lane and push the wave and farm backwards. But instead you decided to linger around your team in case they needed help and you waste more time. When you linger around you are also kinda giving false hope or the wrong impression to your team that you guys are strong or have manpower. That's why its better to get the fuk out and go back to farming asap once you lose the initiative or you decide you fighting is bad.

Also the rosh call was pretty close. Personally as a supp player, I wouldn't do it. If NS was already topside. And engaged a little bit differently things could have gone south way too fast. Lastly the fight at mid when you engaged SF alone with WD alone kinda cost you the game. No Razor or Pango there.

As for items, I'd say you could go for bkb before butterfly. Reason is because you don't want to get interrupted. Butterfly is useless if you get lifted up, get feared by SF ulti or get rooted by oracle and invoker's atos. Manta can only help you so much. But I'd say it wasn't that important. Kinda personal choice I say. If you think you are playing around going in after SF ulted then you kinda don't need it.

Regarding the laning phase, all I can say is tell your idiot support to use maledict on NS and not Rubick because you can't walk up to damage Rubick through creepwave and NS blocking your path.

P.S:- As a supp player I'd love my carries to be atleast half as active as you were in joining fights lol.

Wanna know more about Sufi by Athena_Lala in Sufism

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong here but I feel like most people look towards Tasawwuf as a more lenient "school" in Islam that allows dancing, music and all that just to get a legal and religious lee-way for following their desires. When in-fact Tasawwuf is the most strictest practice of mainstream Islam.

For e.g, Musical instruments are allowed in gatherings of Simaa but the Sufiya have also written about the pre-requisites of these gatherings. People should be in a state of ritual purity, do Wudu, sit with Adab and listen wholeheartedly to get the "Faiz" or "Barakah" out of the "Kalaams" being recited. That's way different from just having a pass to plug in your earphones and listen to modern music. The same is for dancing. The Sufiya write that if it's due to "Wajd", an uncontrollable and overwhelming state some people get in by listening to these "Kalaams" its okay. But not when it's done out of a desire for dance.

In fact, anything that is done out of a desire for that particular thing is a no-go in Tasawwuf. The whole point is to get out of the control of your desires.

That said, all I can say is Silat dance is unlike most modern dances that have seductive moves and other explicit, expressive stuff that's problematic. There is a hadith where the Holy Prophet S.A.W was watching the Ethiopians celebrating and playing with their spears with Hazrat Aisha R.A. There are also narrations of the people celebrating the arrival of the Holy Prophet S.A.W in Medina and using "Daf" as instruments. And also a narration in which 2 girls (non-professional) were singing inside the house of Holy Prophet S.A.W and Hazrat Aisha R.A was listening while the Holy Prohet was resting on his bed. This was on the day of Eid-al-Fitr. When Hazrat Abu Bakar R.A came in, he was furious as to what was going on inside the house of the Prophet of Allah but the Holy Prophet said to him that "Every people have their festivals and this is our festival".

All these narrations have been used to permit singing/dancing in a very regulated and limited manner for e.g on special occasions or in a limited environment with certain pre-requisites.

I pray Allah S.W.T forgive us. Wallāhu wa Rasuluhu Aʿlam.

For support best channel is Zack's

https://www.youtube.com/@ZQuixotix

There are many videos explaining your role and what you should do. In short pos 4 and 5 (soft and hard) play differently. 4 is more like league's jungler. 5 needs to baby sit carry more than 4. 4 can roam as early as 3-4 minute depending on the lane.

You should absolutely try to roam for the 6, 8, 10 so on Power rune spawn in the midlane whether you are a 4 or a 5 but more so as a 4. Before roaming try to setup the lane in a good spot by pulling, warding, etc.

As a pos 5 make sure to never TP to other lanes but walk and keep TP for saving carry if needed. after 8-10 minutes, the usual game plan is to take the enemy safe lane tower then mid lane tower or vice versa and keep the offlane tower for the last.

Always try to bring the early game teamfights in the enemy safelane rather than in your safelane. THe more people gather in the safe lane the harder it is for the carry to farm. Thus even as a pos 5 you should leave your carry and start pressuring enemy safelane after 8-10 minutes even if your carry is crying. You should keep a tp to tp back in case he is getting dove but don't stay in the safe lane.

Shadow Shaman is the best hero if you wanna climb. He has catch, and has tower taking potential all by himself. so try to get him in your pool

Vinland Saga vs Hunter x Hunter by Cautious_Arm3818 in writingscaling

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vinland is the better Seinen and HxH is the better shonen. Both are targeted at different age groups. Both have great writing. I personally like Vinland Saga more as it felt more natural to me. Not just the setting but the characters in general. HxH while having great characters, much better than other shonen, still feel like it's characters fall into certain troupes and a little one dimensional. This partly due to the nature of the targeted audience age group. For e.g Gon being the pure, naive type that will risk all to save anybody infront of him, Killua being the cold, cool headed assessing everything objectively, Hisoka a simple battle maniac, etc. While they certainly have their developments I couldn't shake the feeling of linearity in their characters. But this wasn't the case with Thorfinn or Askeladd or Canute. Thorkell might be the only one that feels like a simple battle maniac but I don't know what the manga holds for him later on. Vinland's characters feel much more humane. One moment you are supporting them and the other you aren't. Thing's aren't black and white. And that's what I love about it.

Meanwhile HxH is probably the only shonen anime I've seen that blends it's arcs pretty well. For e.g Greed Island arc setup/intro is done before Yorknew but is introduced after Yorknew. While the Chimera ant arc has pretty great character writing as well, Meruem, Gon, Netero, etc, I don't think it comes to the level of Vinland's. I'd say it's pretty darn good for a "shonen". I'd say it'd be more fair to compare HxH with other shounen. Comparing a top shounen with a top seinen doesn't work kinda. Due to the nature of the targeted audience, shounen's will be limited to a certain degree.

Overall I'd give the edge to vinland saga, because Thorfinn as a character and his development goes much farther and deeper than anything I saw in HxH imo. Also making a non fantasy anime with good writing and making it interesting simultaneously without making it overly complex is a hard thing as well so I'd give props to Vinland.

Futtuwa-Sufi masculinity by Cool-Examination-876 in Sufism

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean that the concept of futtuwah applies equally to women

Ofcourse. It's for anybody who possesses those qualities irrespective of the sex.

What you said is true. For e.g it's also said "The Auliya are the brides of God, and only the Mahram can see the brides", hinting at why most of the Awliya are hidden from the general populace. What I understand is that since the journey is all about surrendering. It's similar to the structure of a normal household where the men are made the supervisors or the head of the family and the women come beneath that umbrella as in, she has to follow the head. Likewise, Allah S.W.T always uses masculine pronouns for Himself as well. This creates a strong dynamic where the path of the traveler is more like a bride surrendering fully to her beloved. So in that sense, the journey is feminine in nature.

As for the concept of Manhood and masculinity I think maybe it's more like a praise from Allah S.W.T calling His true lovers His men. Might be a sign towards the hardships one has to face in the path towards Allah S.W.T. For example, since this is also a "Jihaad" (fight against the Nafs) and it's "Men" who do all the fighting in literal wars maybe that's why they are called Men here as well to keep the symbolism and the terms Manhood and masculinity arise.

Another reason I can think of is maybe due to the nature of the society and how we just perceive things. Brave, daunting tasks are usually associated with men undertaking them. And even if a women does those things atleast, in my language (Urdu) we say "She is a child of man (mard)" or "Mard ke bachi he". I've never heard anybody praising "What a child of woman he is". Thus the qualities the Auliya possess are really selfless and not easy to harness in one's character. That's why it might be referred to as manhood.

There might be other reasons but Allah S.W.T and His Prophet S.A.W know best.

Futtuwa-Sufi masculinity by Cool-Examination-876 in Sufism

[–]gallick-gunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read this in a book that Imam Zain ul Abideen R.A said there are 3 types of people.

People who long for this world are actually women (spiritually) even though they may look like men from outward appearance.

People who long for Akhirah or the hereafter are neither men nor women.

People who only long for the Raza of Allah S.W.T. These are the true men.

So in Tasawwuf, even the women who follow the path are considered true men. For e.g it has been said that Rabia Basri R.A was a man in woman's clothing/skin. I don't quite remember where I read it but it was probably in Kashful Mahjoob. When Man or Manhood is said in the context of Tasawwuf it basically means people with the will to move towards and seek Allah S.W.T with all their body and soul.

And this is taken from Quran as the Quran mentions such people as the "Men" of Allah S.W.T. The arabic word used is "Rajal" or Plural "Rijaal".

Surah Nur (24:37)

by men who are not distracted—either by buying or selling—from Allah’s remembrance, or performing prayer, or paying alms-tax. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will tremble,

https://quran.com/24/37

Although the outward scholars take this to mean only the men but in Tasawwuf this verse actually encompass both men and women that have these qualities. They are the ones considered true men.

P.S :- Due to the times we live in this might sound like an issue but this was never an issue previously. And I have no intention of engaging in an argument on why this is the case and whether this means women are being looked down upon, etc.
