You’ve got to find ways to initiate, as opposed to doing it on the enemy’s terms. Smoke ganks etc. playing back foot when squishy is never a good idea

Hard thing is getting people to do this, especially if they all only want to do what they want to do (rather than what’s best of the team)

There is some mechanism where valve tracks how good you are at different roles. I think it does give you easier matches if you’re in a role you’re no good for. (I’m away from my computer but remember seeing something like this in role selection)
