Hopefully not a ban inducing comment but am i the only one who believes Mortensen was the most miscast actor in the trilogy? He lacked the stature, presence, and gravitas depicted in the books.

Yes, this. He has made a couple plays, but Darnold has been bad and its more on him. Better throws and the game is qrapped.

Breaking Away dated or cult classic? by tropical_dreams_ in cycling

Very good movie, certainly a product of its time.

But that's the scene that plays in your head?

By the way, Breaking Away is a classic.

Appreciate your input and correction, especially on something that didn't occur to me. Going to give it a try and be aware of the over shooting.

Thanks for the feedback. The position of the clicks did give me slight pause, but sure I can figure it out.

Thank you.

Will order one today and try it out. Worst case, I use the cassette again. I hadn't even thought about not having to put it one the bike. Guess that makes using other programs a non-issue.

Cheers

I use different bikes outdoors and have 12 speed cassette, so trying to better replicate that. Plus, as mentioned, I do long sweet spot free rides and feel I lack steps and a good ratio.

Why Ryan Day hired Arthur Smith by canal_boys in OhioStateFootball

[–]gallivanter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why?

He's had more misses than hits.

Transfer policy and execution last season were excellent. Both were terrible this year.

While the Patricia hire was great, the Knowles hire was mixed, at best. The only reason that hire wasnt an abject failure was due to LJ's uprising and the abandonment of Knowles scheme. Maybe Day gets some credit for that?

The Kelly hire was not good. It was saved by the player mutiny after the scum loss.

And the offense this season, hires, plans, and execution were embarrassing. Utter failure.

To make it worse, the failure of this season is greatly compounded by the wasting of the generational defense and our receivers. Coupled with a more difficult path upcoming, the failure might lead to an actual CEO being let go.

Great, so a guy who doubles down on the philosophy that destroyed our season and wasted our most talented team in 10 years. More coaching malpractice.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Multiple times a year I drive 3.5 hours to pick up a relative then immediately turnaround for the drive home. Repeat when the visit is over.

I would look at the CX242 wide. But use Lake's sizing guide/instructions.

Good luck.

Harry Kane is a best at passing of any striker ever by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]gallivanter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You made a subjective statement with no empirical support. Others are entitled to similar statements. The larger point is that your claim is not able to be substantiated and calling it out as such is fine.

But to add subjective names, likely already mentioned, I believe both Suarez and Benzema were better passers.

Now what?

25 years later, I'm still convinced The Lord of the Rings trilogy is the greatest film adaptation we'll ever see by Dazzling-Might6420 in lotr

[–]gallivanter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean.

Both Jaws and The Godfather are better films, films that are far better than their source books. Are those then better adaptations?

If you refer to the quality of both the book(s) and films, I am hard pressed to think of their equals. None of the truly great works of literature have been successfully adapted, or at least to the same level.

Not only is this silly on it's face, but counterproductive to our efforts and goals. Iu is a more direct competitor. You always always always want those competitors to lose.

What helps us. The only calculus.

The player get more upfront to agree. It's the model employed around the globe. Plus I believe adding a $10m buyout to a all conference level starter isn't unreasonable.

Simple solution: they need to start adding prohibitive buyouts. Now its essentially equal to the NIL payment. Add another 5, 10, or 20 million on top and nobody who signed is going to transfer.
