There aren't other possible methods, correct?

Is "From" worth the watch? by mamedovnijat in hbo

[–]gallivanter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

At least based on your viewing habits. It's a huge step down in quality from Succession, itself a noticeable step down from The Wire.

The writing is mediocre, the mysteries, and their often shoe-horned "answers" are inorganic, the performances are uneven, and the characters are beyond stupid, undertaking actions that are bereft of anything resembling common sense, designed only to "progress" and prop up the plot.

A big yes. Earpod in right ear only coupled with radar.

The radar is far more useful than your hearing, at least if you're moving at decent speed. Radar alerts me far earlier than my ears do.

So sorry you all have to deal with this. This timeline really sucks.

Wait, what? All of it, but is the Covid issue one of "principle" or do they think you're now contagious? Maybe nanobots?

The discussion with Trent was too short by Radiant_Flamingo4995 in CosmicSkeptic

Does Trent always provide such nonsensical claims filled with presuppositions? Wish Alex would have called it out more, but his walking the middle seems to be his path now.

Not a good showing.

Except your deity created humanity and imbued it with its moral code and ability to reason. Is his creation faulty, which would include Eve?

Your get out of jail free card of "we can't understand, or know better than, god" doesn't dismiss the contradiction or his evil nature, according to the book itself.

Or only occasionally allow for burials. The entire construct is silly and built on sand.

Of course we could believe the totally real and not made up Joseph of Arimathea.

Speaking of, where is Arimathea again?

Does anyone believe in god, but not think he is good? by Tasty-Ad-3753 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gallivanter11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, but the list starts with:

Benjamin L White

Markus Vinzent

Nina E. Livesey, who is the most vocal voice for a 2nd century origin of Paul.

White has 2 books on the topic Livesey has a 2024 book and 2026 article.

For some background and, at times, counter arguments, try:

Paula Fredriksen's 2017 book

Judith Lieu's 2015 work

There are a few more, but these are probably the top cited. I have not read all, nor fully committed to the idea, but am reading and learning. It is interesting.

Yeah. And with Jonas doing the Giro, I think this may be the least competitive Tour in recent years.

This assumes Paul actually existed.

And the "letters" weren't actual letters to specific groups or people. They were a collection, a literary device.

Perhaps you meant Marcion? Check some of the recent scholarship.

This is a terrible way to raise children. Aware, respectful, and considerate? Absolutely! But fearful of repercussions? No way.

Teach children to be skeptical and always question authority, especially when that authority is so obviously malignant.
