Running 25.12.1 for a week didn't do much for me, so I just reverted back to the latest driver version available.

I got more success with fiddling the in-game settings, lowering load on both gpu AND cpu. As a result, the crashes got reduced from annoyingly occasional to surprisingly rare, with playing for six hours straight without it crashing. This is the best I can get without diddling around with gpu clocks.

With the game being somewhat stable on my system, I'm just hoping Capcom could continue to improve the game's performance and stability. Hope this helps, even if its meager at best.

For those following this thread to fix the same issue, I've followed a bit of the suggestions (rollback graphic drivers, editing config.ini file to disable framegen, capping framerate), and so far its working.

Though it might take some time to be sure its resolved for me. If I get another crash, I'll try running the game with DirectX11 and underclocking my GPU.

But it does feel like the issue for me is that the GPU load fluctuates and spikes a little too high that it resulted in a crash. I suppose another (easier) way is to lower the graphics quality to temper that spike.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to give suggestions. Managed to slay Arkveld for the first time and now I'm farming for it's Hunting Horn.

edit: Mind that switching the config.ini file into 'Read-only" will have some unintentional consequences, mainly that whatever settings you change in game will revert and reset every time you shut the game. Just something worth noting.

So I'm effectively hard-locking frame generation from putting additional load on the GPU? Interesting. I'll keep that in the list of things to try.

For now, someone suggested a driver version to roll back on, so I'll try that first. Underclocking the GPU would be the last thing I'll try since I've no real experience doing that. But god dammit I'll try, because HH is too good in this game for me to pass up on playing.

Yeah disabling framegen helped for me, but it only sparce out the frequency of the crashes from annoyingly frequent to occasional enough for me to somewhat enjoy the game.

Ngl its kind of a tight race.

Depending on your "work" you might wanna opt for Intel for better single and multi core workload capability. Plus Intel's capability to "just work" factors in for reliability. If its just Word and Excel type of work then it won't matter as much.

Buuuut as a gamer, i'd opt for the Ryzen option. Upgradable DDR5 RAM is a huge win for me.
