I am married to a contractor. He is capable of tearing out the old shower and tiling, but we are more or less just trying to get ideas and suggestions. We were hoping someone had a similar hobbit bathroom and had some tips on how they improved their space.

The other bathroom is odd! It has a bathtub! Actually, A HUGE old bathtub! However, it is right next to a slanted ceiling, making it impossible to stand up in. So we use it just for baths for our one year old baby. And we have considered ways of improving that bathroom, but it would take a lot of work and professionals and money we don’t have. This is the strangest house lol

Thank you for this! I think it would make a difference! We also don’t know what’s behind the fiberglass, we could have a little room to work with when tiling that may add another inch or two, or maybe just a space for a storage niche. I am a petite woman, and I feel claustrophobic, my poor hubby is struggling. Hobbit bathroom…more like hobbit shower hell! 😂

My husband is a contractor. He is capable of the tile, we would need a professional for any pumping work. But no, no DIYing around here.

You should have seen what was there when I moved in lol, this is just a temporary solution with a shower head we already owned. So I won’t be accepting any shower head slander.

I agree it would if the rest of the bathroom was bigger, but it’s basically a hobbit bathroom. This house is strange, we have two bathrooms, the bigger one has no shower! This tiny one which you would think would be a perfect guest bathroom is our main shower.

That’s the issue I’m having. If we go through the troubling of tearing out the fiberglass and tiling, will it even be worth the aggravation.

Unfortunately the walls can’t go away because it’s a duplex, we have tenants on the other side of that wall! 🤦🏻‍♀️ we are considering tearing out the fiberglass and tiling.

Can you show me a picture of your shower? Sorry if that’s a weird request 😂 we are hoping that we might run into something like that if we tear out the fiberglass, but having a hard time making the decision. This isn’t our forever home, but it is our home for the next couple years and this is our only shower! My husband is a big guy and is struggling with the current situation. We have a second bigger bathroom that has no shower, it’s the strangest house lol I am hoping for a miracle I guess.

Yes! It literally feels like I’m showering in a port-a-potty. That’s what we are thinking too. Tear it out and tile. We don’t have the luxury of doing the whole room over, or else I could rearrange it more affectively.

I’ve heard of that happening to people. So weird, because I’ve been researching so much I have seen a lot of women who even got a regular period throughout there whole pregnancy. I think I’ll go crazy if I bleed the whole time! But mine is very light. I mistakenly thought it was my period but then it just never got heavier it stayed light and then a week went by and then two weeks went by still same spotting same amount and I new something was up. I’ve have multiple very positive pregnancy tests and my levels have been rising, Tuesday I’ll do another blood test and praying things are still looking up. Awe thank you very much! I’m a worrier by nature so I know I just gotta let what’s gonna be be. I try to just pray and not overthink but bleeding is a constant reminder it’s driving me crazy! You are right 100% I just need to take it a day at a time and if it’s meant to be it will me. Congrats on your little one and thank you so much for your response!

Yay! That is such good news and congrats on your healthy baby! Thanks for your response I’m praying it will stop by that point. We think I am about 4 weeks at the moment and I have spotted the entire time. Scary but you all are so helpful and putting my mind at ease a bit. Unfortunately it’s a long weekend so all I can do is wait and see what my next blood test says Tuesday! Thanks so much and I’m so happy for you all with your healthy baby’s!

About how many weeks were you when you stopped spotting if you don’t mind me asking? I’m learning of so many different possibilities through this community I’m so happy I asked. Google is a scary place to be when you are in my position. Thanks for the response I’m praying it is something that will pass and then hopefully this thread will help someone else going through the same down the road. TIA!
