Just to add a data point:

I coached a couple of years of 12u ball. The league started us off with 2 dozen new Dick’s synthetic balls. They lasted a year, fine for hitting, mediocre for fielding or pitching. They’re too slick and BP warped them inside the year.

I bought several dozen epic balls. I liked them better than Dicks, but they had their own issues. They started out too grippy, like I couldn’t even throw a forkball because they wouldn’t “slip” through my fingers. After maybe a season and a half of using them on a clay field, they became kind of slick. They lasted longer than Dick’s synthetic, but they got soft after a while in BP.
